Pronunciation Guide
ā, ī, ū, ē, ō are long vowels held for double the duration of short vowels.
ṭ, ḍ, ṇ, ḷ are retroflex sounds; curl your tongue tip back to touch the roof of the mouth.
ś (as in "shoe") and ṣ (deeper "sh" sound with curled tongue) are distinct.
ch is always a soft, singular sound (as in "chair"), never hard like "k."
ḥ (visarga) is a faint, breathy aspiration after the vowel, and ṃ (anusvara) is a soft nasal hum.

ಶ್ರೀ ಜಗನ್ನಾಥದಾಸರು ರಚಿಸಿರುವ 'ಹರಿಕಥಾಮೃತಸಾರ'ದ ೨೭ನೆಯ ಸಂಧಿಯಾದ 'ಅನುಕ್ರಮಣಿಕಾ ತಾರತಮ್ಯ ಸಂಧಿ'ಯು ತತ್ತ್ವಜ್ಞಾನದ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಮಹತ್ವದ್ದಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಸಂಧಿಯು ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಸಕಲ ಚೇತನಗಳ ಶ್ರೇಣಿಯನ್ನು (ತಾರತಮ್ಯ) ಮತ್ತು ಭಗವಂತನ ಸರ್ವೋತ್ತಮತ್ವವನ್ನು ಸಂಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ಅಧ್ಯಾಯದ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಸಾರಾಂಶ
ಈ ಸಂಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಸರು ಶ್ರೀಮದಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ಮತವನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾದಿ ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿದು ಮನುಷ್ಯರವರೆಗೆ ಇರುವ ತಾರತಮ್ಯವನ್ನು (ಜೀವರ ಶ್ರೇಣಿ) ಸ್ಮರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಭಗವಂತನಾದ ಶ್ರೀಹರಿಯು ಈ ಸಕಲ ಜೀವರಾಶಿಯ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅವನನ್ನು ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಸ್ಮರಿಸುವುದೇ ಈ ಜನ್ಮದ ಸಾರ್ಥಕತೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಭಗವಂತನು ಸಕಲ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಗುಣಗಳ ಆಗರ, ಸಜ್ಜನರ ರಕ್ಷಕ ಮತ್ತು ಮೋಕ್ಷಪ್ರದಾತ ಎಂಬುದೇ ಈ ಸಂಧಿಯ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದನೆ.
ಪದ್ಯವಾರ ಅರ್ಥ ವಿವರಣೆ
ಪೀಠಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅನುಕ್ರಮಣಿಕೆ:
ಪೀಠಿಕೆ: ಹರಿಕಥಾಮೃತಸಾರದ ಈ ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಗುರುಗಳ ಕರುಣೆಯಿಂದ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಭಗವಂತನ ಭಕ್ತರು ಇದನ್ನು ಆದರದಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿ ಆನಂದಿಸಬೇಕು.
ಅನುಕ್ರಮಣಿಕೆ: ಮನುಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠರಾದವರಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿದು ಸಂಕರ್ಷಣನವರೆಗೆ ಇರುವ ತಾರತಮ್ಯದ ಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುವ ಈ ಪದ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸಜ್ಜನರು ಕೇಳಬೇಕು.
ಪದ್ಯ ೧ (ದೇವತಾ ನಮನ):
ಶ್ರೀಮದಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ಮತವನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸುವ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳಿಗೆ, ಯಜ್ಞಾರ್ಹರಾದ ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಗೆ, ಪಾರ್ವತಿ, ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಮಹಿಷಿಯರು, ಶಿವ, ಸರಸ್ವತಿ, ವಾಯುದೇವ, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ, ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀದೇವಿ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀಮನ್ನಾರಾಯಣನಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ನಮಸ್ಕರಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
ಪದ್ಯ ೨ (ಭಗವಂತನ ಮಹಿಮೆ):
ಸಂಪತ್ತಿನ ಅಧಿದೇವತೆಯಾದ ಶ್ರೀಪತಿಯೇ, ನೀನು ಸಜ್ಜನರ ಇಷ್ಟಾರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸುವವನು. ನಿನ್ನ ಚರಿತ್ರೆ ಅತೀ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಂದರವಾದುದು. ನೀನೇ ಸಕಲ ಲೋಕಗಳಿಗೂ ಒಡೆಯನಾಗಿದ್ದು, ನನ್ನ ಕುಲದೈವವಾಗಿ ಸಜ್ಜನರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸು.
ಪದ್ಯ ೩ (ಭಕ್ತರ ಕಾಮಧೇನು):
ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನೇ, ನೀನು ರಾಕ್ಷಸ ಕುಲಕ್ಕೆ ಭಯಂಕರನಾದವನು. ಇಂದ್ರಾದಿ ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಿಯನಾದವನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ವರೂಪ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೂ ವಾಚಕಗಳಿಗೂ ನಿಲುಕದ್ದು. ಭಕ್ತರಿಗೆ ನೀನು ಕಾಮಧೇನು, ಕಲ್ಪವೃಕ್ಷ ಮತ್ತು ಚಿಂತಾಮಣಿಯಂತಿದ್ದು ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದೀಯೆ.
ಪದ್ಯ ೪ (ಭಗವಂತನ ಗುಣಗಾನ):
ಬಂಗಾರದ ಬಣ್ಣದವನೇ, ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರನೇ, ಶಾಶ್ವತನೇ. ನೀನು ವೇದಗಳಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಥವಾಗುವವನು, ವಾಯುದೇವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇರಿಸುವವನು, ಗರುಡ ವಾಹನನೇ. ನೀನು ಆಲದ ಎಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಲಗುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಸಜ್ಜನರಿಗೆ ಆಶ್ರಯವಾಗಿದ್ದೀಯೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸತ್ಚರಿತ ಗುಣಗಳಿಂದ ಭರಿತನಾಗಿದ್ದೀಯೆ.
ಪದ್ಯ ೫ (ಶ್ರೀ ಜಗನ್ನಾಥ ವಿಠ್ಠಲನ ಸ್ತುತಿ):
ಅಸಂಖ್ಯಾತ ಸುಗುಣಗಳ ಭಂಡಾರನೇ, ನೀನು ಜಗತ್ತಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಜೀವರಿಂದಲೂ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಭಿನ್ನನಾದವನು. ತ್ರಿಗುಣಾತೀತನಾದ ನೀನು ಭುವನತ್ರಯಕ್ಕೂ ಒಡೆಯ. ಜಗನ್ನಾಥ ವಿಠಲನೇ, ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಗಲಿರುಳು ಸ್ಮರಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ನಿನ್ನ ಭಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಗ್ನರಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನೇ ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸುವ ಭಾಗ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸು.

He emphasizes that Lord Narayana is the supreme Sovereign over all these beings. The chapter asserts that the ultimate purpose of life is to contemplate the Divine, who is the abode of all auspicious qualities, the protector of the righteous, and the sole granter of liberation.

Preamble and Introduction
Preamble: By the grace of my Guru, I am presenting this part of the Harikathāmṛtasāra. May the supreme devotees of the Lord listen to this with reverence.
Introduction: Righteous souls should listen to this specific sequence, which defines the hierarchy of beings starting from the greatest of humans up to Lord Sankarshana.
Para 1: Salutations to the Divine Hierarchy
I bow with devotion to the lotus feet of the wise followers of Sri Madhvacharya, the demigods eligible for the Soma sacrifice, Parvati, the six principal consorts of Krishna, Shiva, Saraswati, Vayu, Brahma, Lakshmi, and finally, Lord Narayana.
Para 2: Praise of the Lord of Lakshmi
Oh Lord of Lakshmi, you are the granter of all desires and the beloved of the righteous. Your history is sacred and your form is beautiful. You are the Master of all worlds; please act as the guardian deity of my lineage and protect the righteous.
Para 3: The Lord as the Refuge for Devotees
Oh Lord Rama, you are the terror to the demonic clans. You are dear to Indra and beyond the reach of the mind and speech. You are the Wish-fulfilling Cow (Kamadhenu), the Celestial Tree (Kalpataru), and the Wish-fulfilling Gem (Chintamani) for your true devotees, granting them both worldly happiness and liberation everywhere.
Para 4: Attributes of the Supreme
You are golden-hued, independent, and omnipresent. You are eternal and beyond the limitations of the four Ashramas. You are the inner controller of Vayu, the rider of Garuda, and you rest upon the banyan leaf. You are the ultimate refuge for the righteous and are filled with perfect qualities.
Para 5: Praise of Sri Jagannatha Vitthala
You are the reservoir of infinite auspicious qualities, immutable and devoid of internal distinctions. You are entirely distinct from the world and the individual souls. You are beyond the three modes of nature (Trigunas) and the Lord of the three worlds. Oh Jagannatha Vitthala, who pervades the universe, grant me the fortune to remember you day and night, never straying from your devotion.
