Pronunciation Guide
Pronounce 'ś' like the 'sh' in "shoe" and 'ṇ' and 'ḷ' with the tongue retroflexed against the roof of the mouth.
Long vowels (marked with a macron like ā, ī, ū) should be held for twice the duration of short vowels.
The retroflex 'ṭ' and 'ḍ' require curling the tongue tip back to touch the hard palate.
Read 'c' as 'ch' (as in "church") and double consonants (like 'ṭṭ' or 'll') with a slight emphasis.

ನಾ ಮಾಡಿದಪರಾಧ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಡಲು ನೀ ಮಾಡುವದೇನೋ ಜಾನಕೀನಾಥ [ಪ]
ಅರ್ಥ: ಹೇ ಜಾನಕೀನಾಥ (ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನೇ), ನಾನು ಮಾಡಿದ ತಪ್ಪುಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅಪರಾಧಗಳು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ಇನ್ನು ನೀನು ಏನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀಯೋ (ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಕಾಪಾಡುತ್ತೀಯೋ)?
ಚರಣ ೧
ಕಾಮಕ್ರೋಧಗಳಳಿದು ತಾಮಸಂಗಳು ನೀಗಿ ನೇಮನಿತ್ಯದಿ ಹರಿನಾಮ ಭಜಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ ೧
ಅರ್ಥ: ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕಾಮ ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ರೋಧಗಳನ್ನು ತೊರೆದು, ತಾಮಸ ಗುಣಗಳನ್ನು ಹೋಗಲಾಡಿಸಿ, ನಿತ್ಯ ನಿಯಮದಿಂದ ಶ್ರೀಹರಿಯ ನಾಮವನ್ನು ಭಜಿಸುವ ಸೌಭಾಗ್ಯ ನನಗೆ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಪರನಿಂದೆ ಪರನಾರಿಯರ ಮೋಹ ತೊರೆಯದೆ ಗುರುಹಿರಿಯರ ಜರಿದು ನರಕಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಯಾದೆ ೨
ಅರ್ಥ: ಇತರರನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ಹಾಗೂ ಪರಸ್ತಿಯರ ಮೇಲಿನ ಮೋಹವನ್ನು ಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಗುರುಹಿರಿಯರನ್ನು ಜರಳಿ, ಕೊನೆಗೆ ನರಕಯಾತನೆಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾದೆನು.

ತಂದೆ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನೆ ಕಂದನ ತಪ್ಪು ದಯ

ಅರ್ಥ: ಹೇ ತಂದೆ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಕಂದನಾದ ನನ್ನ ತಪ್ಪುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ದಯೆಯಿಂದ ಕ್ಷಮಿಸಿ, ಇನ್ನುಮುಂದೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಸಲಹಿ ಕಾಪಾಡು.

Summary (English)
In this soul-stirring composition by the Aparoksha Jnani Sri Ramadasaru of Gonawara (bearing the ankita "Sri Rama"), the devotee expresses profound remorse for his misdeeds. Acknowledging that he failed to conquer base desires like anger and greed, or abandon gossip and wrongful infatuations, he pleads to Lord Rama. Asking the Lord to forgive a child's faults out of boundless compassion, he surrenders completely for divine protection.

Nā māḍidaparādha nannannu kāḍalu nī māḍuvadēnō jānakīnātha [pa]
Meaning: O Lord of Janaki, when the sins and offenses I have committed torment me, what will You do to save me?
Stanza 1
Kāmakrōdhaɡaḷaḷidu tāmasaṁgaḷu nīgi nēmanityadi harināma bhajisalilla 1
Meaning: I failed to eradicate lust and anger, cast off sluggish (tamasic) qualities, and chant the holy name of Hari with daily discipline.
Stanza 2
Paraninde paranāriyara mōha tore yade guru-hiriyara jaridu narakakke guriyāde 2
Meaning: Without abandoning slander of others and infatuation with other women, and by rebuking elders and gurus, I became destined for hell.
Stanza 3
Taṁnde śrīrāmane kaṁdana tappu daya
diṁda kṣamisi innu ceṁdadiṁ salahayya 3
Meaning: O Father Sri Rama, graciously forgive the mistakes of your child, and henceforth lovingly protect and nurture me!
