ಅರ್ಥ: ಶ್ರೀ ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿಯು ಯಾವುದೇ ಸಂದೇಹವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ ನಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾಳೆ. ಬಂದವಳು ಕೇವಲ ಅತಿಥಿಯಾಗಿರದೆ, ನಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ನೆಲೆ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದಾಳೆ. ನಂದಕುಮಾರನಾದ ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನ (ವಿಷ್ಣುವಿನ) ಪತ್ನಿಯಾದ ಇಂದಿರಾದೇವಿಯು ನಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗೆ ದಯಮಾಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾಳೆ.

ಅರ್ಥ: ಶ್ರಾವಣ ಮಾಸದ ಶುಕ್ಲ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಶುಕ್ರವಾರದಂದು (ವರಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ಹಬ್ಬ), ಅಂದರೆ ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮೆಯ ಹಿಂದಿನ ದಿನ, ಪಂಡಿತರು ಮತ್ತು ಭಕ್ತರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಸೇರಿ ದೇವಿಯ ಸಹಸ್ರನಾಮಗಳನ್ನು ಪಠಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆ ಭಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಒಲಿದು ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿಯು ವಾಸುದೇವನೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಸಲು ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾಳೆ.
