ಈ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರವು ಭಾಗ್ಯದೇವತೆಯಾದ ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿಯನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಶ್ರೀ ಪುರಂದರದಾಸರು ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ತಾಯಿಯ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಆಕೆಯ ಕರುಣೆಯನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೊಂಡಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಭಾವಾರ್ಥ (Meaning Parawise)
ಪಲ್ಲವಿ:
ಅರವಿಂದಾಲಯೇ ತಾಯೇ ಶರಣು ಹೊಕ್ಕೆನು ಕಾಯೇ
ಸಿರಿ ರಮಣನ ಪ್ರಿಯೇ ಜಗನ್ಮಾತೇ
ಅರ್ಥ: ಕಮಲವೇ ಮನೆಯಾಗಿ ಉಳ್ಳವಳೇ (ಅರವಿಂದಾಲಯ), ತಾಯೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಶರಣು ಬಂದಿರುವೆನು, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡು. ಶ್ರೀಹರಿಯ ಪ್ರಿಯ ಪತ್ನಿಯೇ, ಈ ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ತಾಯಿಯಾದವಳೇ, ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನಮಿಸುವೆನು.

ಅರ್ಥ: ತಾವರೆಯ ಸುಗಂಧದಂತೆ ಪರಿಮಳಿಸುವವಳೇ, ಕಮಲದ ದಳಗಳಂತಹ ಕಣ್ಣುಳ್ಳವಳೇ, ನಿರ್ಮಲವಾದ ಕಮಲದಂತೆ ಶೋಭಿಸುವವಳೇ. ನಿನ್ನ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಹಸ್ತ ಮತ್ತು ಪಾದಗಳು ಕಮಲದಂತೆ ಮೃದುವಾಗಿಯೂ, ತೇಜಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿಯೂ ಇವೆ. ಅಂತಹ ಕಮಲಾಕ್ಷಿಯೇ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸು.
ಚರಣ ೨:
ನಿನ್ನ ಕರುಣ ಕಟಾಕ್ಷ ವಿಕ್ಷಣದಿಂದಲಿ ತನುಮನಗಳನಿತ್ತೆ ಧನ್ಯ ವಿರಾಜಿತೇ
ಅಜಭಾವಾದಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಸನ್ನೇ ಕಾಯೇ ಎನ್ನನು
ಅರ್ಥ: ತಾಯೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಕರುಣೆಯ ದೃಷ್ಟಿ ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದರೆ ನನ್ನ ತನು-ಮನಗಳು ಪಾವನವಾಗುತ್ತವೆ, ನಾನು ಧನ್ಯನಾಗುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ (ಅಜ) ಮತ್ತು ಶಿವ (ಭವ) ಮುಂತಾದ ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ಒಲಿಯುವವಳೇ, ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಪ್ರಸನ್ನಳಾಗು.
ಚರಣ ೩:
ಹರಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಉರದಲ್ಲಿ ಧರಿಸಿದನೆಂಬಂತ ಕರುವದಿ ಮರೆಯದಿರೆ
ನಿರತ ನಿನ್ನಯ ಮುದ್ದು ಪುರಂದರವಿಠಲನ ಚರಣಕಮಲವ ತೋರಿಸೆ
ಅರ್ಥ: ಶ್ರೀಹರಿಯು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಎದೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ (ವಕ್ಷಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ) ಸದಾ ಧರಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆ (ಕರುವ) ನಿನಗಿರಲಿ, ಆದರೆ ಆ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನಂತಹ ಭಕ್ತನನ್ನು ಮರೆಯಬೇಡ. ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಿಯ ಪತಿಯಾದ, ಭಕ್ತವತ್ಸಲ ಪುರಂದರವಿಠಲನ ಪಾದಕಮಲಗಳ ದರ್ಶನವನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಸದಾ ಮಾಡಿಸು (ಅಂದರೆ ಮೋಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ದಾರಿ ತೋರಿಸು).

Verse-by-Verse Meaning
Pallavi
“O Mother who dwells in the lotus, I have surrendered to you; protect me. Beloved of the Lord (Siri Ramana), O Mother of the Universe.”
Meaning: The poet begins by identifying Lakshmi's divine abode (the lotus) and her relationship as the consort of Lord Vishnu, pleading for her motherly protection.
Charana 1
“O Goddess with the fragrance of a lotus, with eyes like lotus petals, shining with stainless purity. With beautiful hands and feet that resemble lotuses, O Kamala, protect me.”
Meaning: This verse is a poetic meditation on the "Kamala" (lotus) aspect of the Goddess. The poet sees the purity, beauty, and softness of the lotus in her eyes, hands, feet, and very essence.
Charana 2
“By the grace of your compassionate glance, my body and mind have become blessed and fulfilled. O Goddess who is gracious to Brahma (Aja), Shiva (Bhava), and others, protect me.”
Meaning: The poet explains that even a sideways glance (kataksha) from the Goddess is enough to purify a devotee’s life. He notes that if even the highest gods depend on her grace, he surely needs her protection.
Charana 3
“Do not forget me in the pride/joy of being held by Lord Hari on His very chest. Constantly show me the lotus feet of your beloved Purandara Vitthala.”
Meaning: In a touch of "Ninda Stuti" (playful praise), the poet says, "I know Lord Vishnu loves you so much that He keeps you on His chest, but please don't let that bliss make you forget this humble devotee." He asks the Mother to act as a bridge, leading him to the feet of the Supreme Lord.
