೧ನೇ ನುಡಿ: ಯಾರು ರಾಮನಾಮವನ್ನು ನಂಬುತ್ತಾರೋ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಯಮನ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ (ಕಾಲನಪುರ) ಅಂದರೆ ಸಾವಿನ ಭಯವೇ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಮಹರ್ಷಿ ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕಿಗಳೇ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ. ಕೇವಲ ಐದು ವರ್ಷದ ಬಾಲಕನಾಗಿದ್ದ ಧ್ರುವರಾಯನು ಅಡವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಭಗವಂತನನ್ನು ಭಜಿಸಿ, ಇಂದು ಇಡೀ ಆಕಾಶಮಂಡಲದಲ್ಲೇ ಅತ್ಯುನ್ನತವಾದ ಧ್ರುವನಕ್ಷತ್ರವಾಗಿ ಕಂಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿರಿ.
೨ನೇ ನುಡಿ: ಆ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನ ದಿವ್ಯ ನಾಮದ ಮಹಿಮೆಯಿಂದಲೇ ಮಹಾಬಲವಂತನಾದ ಹನುಮಂತನು ಮುಂದೆ ಬರಲಿರುವ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮದೇವನ (ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನೆ ನಿಪ) ಪದವಿಯನ್ನು ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಮನ್ಮಥನನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿದ ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ ಈಶ್ವರನೇ (ಮಾರಹರನು) ತನ್ನ ಪತ್ನಿಯಾದ ಪಾರ್ವತೀದೇವಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸದಾ ಕಾಲವೂ ಆ ರಾಮನಾಮವನ್ನೇ ಭಜಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಕೇಳಿ.
೩ನೇ ನುಡಿ (ಮುಕ್ತಾಯ): ನೀನು ಹಿಂದೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಅಥವಾ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಜನ್ಮ ಜನ್ಮಾಂತರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಟಬದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಕಾಡಿದ ಪಾಪಗಳ ಸಮೂಹವೆಲ್ಲವೂ (ದುರಿತವೃಂದವೆಲ್ಲ) ಈ ಒಂದು ರಾಮನಾಮದಿಂದಲೇ ನಾಶವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತದೆ (ಛೇದಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತದೆ). ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯಾವುದೇ ದ್ವಂದ್ವವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಒಂದೇ ನಿಶ್ಚಲವಾದ ಭಾವದಿಂದ ಆ ಶ್ಯಾಮಸುಂದರನ ನಾಮವನ್ನು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಪಾಡಿರಿ ಎಂದು ದಾಸರು ಹರಿನಾಮದ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಅರ್ಥ: ದಶರಥ ಮಹಾರಾಜನ ಪುತ್ರನಾದ ಆ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನ (ದಾಶರಧಿ) ದಿವ್ಯ ಧ್ಯಾನವು ನಮಗೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಇಹ-ಪರಗಳ ಅತ್ಯುನ್ನತವಾದ ಆನಂದವನ್ನು ಪ್ರದಾನ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ (ಪ್ರದವೋ). ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಮಾನವನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಅಂತರಂಗದ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದಿನಾಲೂ (ನಿತ್ಯ) ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿ ಆ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನ ಪವಿತ್ರವಾದ ಚರಣಕಮಲಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡಿ ಹಾಡು.
೧. ಒಂದನೇ ನುಡಿ

ಅರ್ಥ: ಯಾರು ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸುತ್ತಾರೋ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಯಮಧರ್ಮನ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ (ಕಾಲನಪುರ) ಹೋಗುವ ಅಂದರೆ ನರಕದ ಅಥವಾ ಮೃತ್ಯುವಿನ ಯಾವುದೇ ಭಯವಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಿಂದೆ ಬೇಡನಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ರಾಮನಾಮ ಜಪದಿಂದಲೇ ಮಹರ್ಷಿಯಾದ ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕಿಗಳೇ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕೇವಲ ಐದು ವರ್ಷದ ಬಾಲಕನಾಗಿದ್ದ ಧ್ರುವರಾಯನು ಕಾಡಿಗೆ (ವನದಿ) ಹೋಗಿ ಆ ಪರಮಾತ್ಮನನ್ನು ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆಯಿಂದ ಭಜಿಸಿ, ಇಂದು ಇಡೀ ಆಕಾಶದ ತುತ್ತತುದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ (ಮೇಲುನಭದಿ) ಧ್ರುವನಕ್ಷತ್ರವಾಗಿ ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿ ಮೆರೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಣ್ಣಾರೆ ನೋಡಿರಿ.
೨. ಎರಡನೇ ನುಡಿ
ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನಾಮದಿಂದ ಮಾರುತಿಯು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನೆ ನಿಪ
ಮಾರಹರನು ತನ್ನ ಸತಿಯಾ ಸೇರಿ ಸತತ ಭಜಿಪ ಕೇಳೋ || ೨ ||
ಅರ್ಥ: ಆ ಪರಮ ಪವಿತ್ರವಾದ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನಾಮದ ನಿರಂತರ ಜಪದ ಬಲದಿಂದಲೇ ಕಪಿವೀರನಾದ ಮಾರುತಿಯು (ಹನುಮಂತನು) ಮುಂದಿನ ಕಲ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಕರ್ತನಾದ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮದೇವನ (ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನೆ ನಿಪ) ಅತ್ಯುನ್ನತ ಪದವಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಮನ್ಮಥನನ್ನು ಭಸ್ಮ ಮಾಡಿದ ಮಹಾದೇವನು (ಮಾರಹರನು - ಶಿವನು) ತನ್ನ ಅರ್ಧಾಂಗಿನಿಯಾದ ಪಾರ್ವತೀದೇವಿಯ ಜೊತೆಗೂಡಿ ಕಾಶೀಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸದಾ ಕಾಲವೂ (ಸತತ) ಆ ರಾಮನಾಮವನ್ನೇ ಭಜಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಜೀವಿಗಳಿಗೆ ತಾರಕಮಂತ್ರವಾಗಿ ಉಪದೇಶಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಕೇಳಿ.
೩. ಮೂರನೇ ನುಡಿ (ಮುಕ್ತಾಯ)

ಅರ್ಥ: ನೀನು ತಿಳಿಯದೇ ಈ ಜನ್ಮದಲ್ಲಾಗಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಜನ್ಮಗಳಲ್ಲಾಗಲಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಸಕಲ ಪಾಪಗಳ ಸಮೂಹವು (ದುರಿತವೃಂದವೆಲ್ಲ) ಈ ರಾಮನಾಮದ ಪ್ರಭಾವದಿಂದ ಬೇರು ಸಮೇತ ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತದೆ (ಛೇದಿಸುವದು). ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಇತ್ತ ಕಡೆ ಅತ್ತ ಕಡೆ ಚದರಗೊಡದೆ, ಕೇವಲ ಒಂದೇ ನಿಶ್ಚಲವಾದ ಭಕ್ತಿಭಾವದಿಂದ ಆ ಶ್ಯಾಮವರ್ಣದ ಸುಂದರ ರಾಮನ ದಿವ್ಯ ನಾಮಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಹಾಡಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಜನ್ಮವನ್ನು ಪಾವನ ಮಾಡಿಕೋ.

Meaning: For the true devotee of Rama, there is no longer any fear of entering the city of Death (Kālanapura), nor is there any fear of hell. The great Sage Valmiki—who transformed from a highway robber into a supreme seer solely through the power of Rama's name—stands as living testimony to this. Look at how the young child Dhruva (Bāla Dhruva) meditated upon the Almighty in the lonely forest (Vanadi) and is now seen shining splendidly and immovably in the highest skies (Mēlunabhadi) as the eternal pole star.

Māraharanu tanna satiyā sēri satata bhajipa kēḷō || 2 ||
Meaning: Listen to the grandeur of this name! It is entirely due to the constant, intense chanting of Sri Rama's name that Maruti (Lord Hanuman) is destined to ascend to the cosmic post of the next Creator Brahma (Brahmane nipa). Furthermore, Lord Shiva, the destroyer of the demon of lust, Kama (Māraharanu), continuously joins His divine consort Goddess Parvati to affectionately chant and dwell upon this glorious name of Rama without a moment's break (Satata).

Hiṃde māḍida ninna duritavṛndavella | chēdisuvadu
Oṃde bhāvadiṃda śāmasuṃdarana nāma pāḍō || 3 ||
Meaning: The heavy, terrifying multi-layered mountains of sins and negative actions (Duritavṛndavella) that you have committed across your past lifetimes will be completely severed at the root and shattered (Chēdisuvadu) by the power of this name. Therefore, without letting your mind drift or waver, maintain a single, unshakeable focus of love (Onde bhāvadinda) and sing the divine name of the dark, beautiful Lord Shyāmasundara.
