ಅರ್ಥ: ಎಲೈ ಗೋಪಿಕೆಯರೇ ಕೇಳಿ, ನಮ್ಮ ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನು ನೀವು ಹೇಳುವಂತಹ ಚೇಷ್ಟೆಗಾರನಲ್ಲ. ಅವನು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ತನ್ನಲ್ಲೇ ತೃಪ್ತನಾಗಿರುವವನು (ಆತ್ಮಾರಾಮ), ಅವನಿಗೆ ಯಾವುದರ ಹಪಹಪಿಯೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
೧ನೇ ಪದ್ಯ:

ಅರ್ಥ: ನಮ್ಮ ಶ್ರೀರಂಗನಿಗೆ ಹಸಿವಾದರೆ ಯಾರನ್ನೂ ಬಂದು ಹಾಲು ಕೇಳಲು ಕೂಡ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಂಥವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನುಗ್ಗಿ ಮೊಸರು-ಹಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಕದ್ದು ಕುಡಿಯಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೇ? (ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕೃಷ್ಣನ 'ನವನೀತ ಚೋರ' ಲೀಲೆಯನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ).

ಅರ್ಥ: ಗಡಿಬಿಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೋ ಪದಾರ್ಥವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಲು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಂದಮೇಲೆ ನೀವು ಮಜ್ಜಿಗೆ ಕಡೆಯುವಾಗ ಬಂದು ಆ ತಾಜಾ ಬೆಣ್ಣೆಯನ್ನು ಮೆಲ್ಲಲು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ತಾನೇ ಸಾಧ್ಯ?
೩ನೇ ಪದ್ಯ:

೫ನೇ ಪದ್ಯ:

ಅರ್ಥ: ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ ಇಡುವಾಗ ತನ್ನ ಕಾಲೇ ತನಗೆ ತೊಡರಿ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಬೀಳುವವನು ಈ ಕೃಷ್ಣ. ಅಂಥವನು ಕಳ್ಳತನ ಮಾಡಿ (ತುಡುಗತನ) ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಸಿಗದಂತೆ ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಓಡಬಲ್ಲನೇ?
೬ನೇ ಪದ್ಯ:
ಹಡೆದಾ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ನಿಮಗ ಪೊಡವಿಯೊಳಿಲ್ಲವೇನೇ |

ಅರ್ಥ: ನಿಮಗೂ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಲ್ಲವೇ? ಈ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಅರಿವು ನಿಮಗಿಲ್ಲವೇ? ಈ ಪುಟ್ಟ ಮಗುವಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಸಲ್ಲದ ದೂರುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವುದು ಸರಿಯಲ್ಲ.
೭ನೇ ಪದ್ಯ:

ಅರ್ಥ: ಗುರು ಮಹಿಪತಿರಾಯರು ಹೇಳುವಂತೆ, ಈ ಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಭಕ್ತರ ಜೊತೆ ಸರಸವಾಡಲು (ಲೀಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ತೋರಲು) ಮನುಷ್ಯ ರೂಪ ತಾಳಿ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಇವನ ಅಂತರಾಳವನ್ನು ಅರಿತವರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಇವನು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಮಗುವಲ್ಲ, ಜಗನ್ನಾಟಕ ಸೂತ್ರಧಾರಿ ಎಂಬುದು ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತದೆ.

This composition by Sri Mahipati Raya of Kakhandaki is a beautiful example of Vyajastuti (praise in the form of blame). On the surface, it seems as though the poet is defending Krishna against the complaints of the Gopis by calling him "innocent" and "clumsy," but in reality, it highlights and celebrates the playful miracles (Leelas) of the Lord.
Summary
In this song, the poet addresses the Gopis (cowherd women) who have come to complain about Krishna’s mischief. With a touch of divine irony, the poet argues that Krishna is far too "naive" or "incapable" to perform such tricks as stealing butter or wandering the streets. By ironically denying these acts, the poet actually brings to mind the famous stories of the "Butter Thief" and the "Enchanter of Hearts," reminding us that Krishna acts out these roles only for the delight of his devotees.

Meaning: If our Sriranga is hungry, he doesn't even know how to come and ask for a little milk. How then could he possibly be capable of sneaking into your houses to drink your curds and milk?
2nd Stanza
Gadibidiyannalaga vadanenjisaruva
Kadeva benneya meluvane || 2 ||
Meaning: He gets confused and clumsy even with simple food. Do you really think he has the cleverness to come while you are churning and snatch away the fresh butter to eat?
3rd Stanza
Taralara kooda hogi baralu haadi tappava
Keri keritirugaballane || 3 ||
Meaning: When he goes out to play with other children, he often forgets the way back home. How could such an innocent boy wander through every lane and street (Keri) of the town?

Hosa more kaanalu kusidu tale baaguva
Vishayakke nimma yalevane || 4 ||
Meaning: He is so shy that he lowers his head in embarrassment when he sees a new face. Do you really believe he is the one drawing you toward him or involving you in his playful antics?

Tudugadi oda ballane || 5 ||
Meaning: Sometimes he even trips over his own feet while walking and falls down. How could someone so clumsy run away swiftly like a thief (Tuduga) after committing a prank?

Bida nudigava sallane || 6 ||
Meaning: Don't you all have children of your own? Do you not understand the nature of children? It is not right to bring such constant and groundless complaints against this little boy.

Charisuva antadorane || 7 ||
Meaning: As Guru Mahipati Swami explains, the Lord has taken this human form only to engage in divine play (Sarasa) with his devotees. He wanders among us in this manner, but only those who know his true nature understand that he is the Master of the Universe.
