ಮಧುಸೂದನ್ ವೆಂಕಟಾಚಲ ರಾವ್ ಅವರು ರಚಿಸಿರುವ ಈ ಕೃತಿಯು ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಲೀಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಅವನನ್ನು ನಂಬಿದ ಭಕ್ತರಿಗೆ ದೊರೆಯುವ ತಕ್ಷಣದ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಮನೋಜ್ಞವಾಗಿ ವರ್ಣಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಹಂಕಾರವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನಿಗೆ ಶರಣಾದವರಿಗೆ ಅವನು ಸದಾ ಬೆನ್ನೆಲುಬಾಗಿ ನಿಲ್ಲುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಈ ಹಾಡಿನ ಮೂಲ ಮಂತ್ರ.

ಈ ಕೃತಿಯು "ನಂಬಿದವರ ಕೈಬಿಡದ ನಂದಕುಮಾರ"ನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಸಾರುತ್ತದೆ. ಜೀವನದ ಕಷ್ಟಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಶಯವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನಿಗೆ ಶರಣಾದರೆ, ಅವನು ನಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಶುದ್ಧೀಕರಿಸಿ, ಅಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದುದನ್ನೂ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಕಾಳಿಂಗ ಮರ್ಧನ, ಗೋವರ್ಧನೋದ್ಧಾರ ಮತ್ತು ದ್ರೌಪದಿಯ ಮಾನರಕ್ಷಣೆಯಂತಹ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಹೇಗೆ ಭಕ್ತರನ್ನು ಪೊರೆದನು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಅವನ ಪಾದಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು ನಂಬುವುದೇ ಬದುಕಿಗೆ ದಾರಿ ಎಂದು ಕವಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಅರ್ಥ (Meaning )

ನಂಬಿ ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನ ತುಂಬಿ ಕೊಡುವ ತಕ್ಷಣ
ಡೊಂಕುಬಿಂಕವೆಲ್ಲಾ ತೊರೆದು ಶಂಕೆಯಿರದೆ ಕೈಯಮುಗಿದು.. !ಪ!
ಅರ್ಥ: ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನಂಬಿರಿ, ಅವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬದುಕನ್ನು ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಸುಖ-ಶಾಂತಿಯಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿಕೊಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಡೊಂಕು-ಬಿಂಕ (ಅಹಂಕಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಸೊಕ್ಕು) ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡಿ. ಯಾವುದೇ ಸಂಶಯವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕೈಮುಗಿದು ಶರಣಾಗಿ.
ಚರಣ ೧: ಮನದ ಶುದ್ಧೀಕರಣ
ಮುದ್ದುಮುಖದ ಮುರಾರಿ ಶ್ರೀಮುಕುಂದನ, ತಿದ್ದಿಮನವ ಶುದ್ದಿ ಮಾಡೋ ದೇವಕಿನಂದನ,
ಕದನದಲಿ ಕಣ್ತೆರಿಸಿದ ಗೀತ ಗೋವಿಂದನ, ಹೃದಯದಲಿ ಕಾಲಿರಿಸಿದ ನವನೀತಕಂದನ!೧!
ಅರ್ಥ: ಮುದ್ದು ಮುಖದ ಮುರಾರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಮುಕ್ತಿ ನೀಡುವ ಮುಕುಂದನನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಿ; ಆ ದೇವಕಿನಂದನನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಚಂಚಲ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ತಿದ್ದಿ ಶುದ್ಧೀಕರಿಸಲಿ. ಕುರುಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಯುದ್ಧದ (ಕದನ) ನಡುವೆ ಅರ್ಜುನನಿಗೆ ಗೀತೋಪದೇಶ ಮಾಡಿ ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಕಣ್ಣು ತೆರೆಸಿದ ಆ ಗೋವಿಂದನು, ಬೆಣ್ಣೆ ಕಳ್ಳನಾಗಿ (ನವನೀತಕಂದ) ನಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯದೊಳಗೆ ಬಂದು ನೆಲೆಸಲಿ.
ಚರಣ ೨: ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಅದ್ಭುತ ಲೀಲೆಗಳು
ದುರುಳತನದಿ ಮೆರೆಯುತಿರಲು ತುಳಿದ ಕಾಳಿಂಗನ, ಸಿರಿಯ ನೀಡಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಆಲಿಂಗನ,
ಗಿರಿಯಾದರೂ ಬೆರಳಮೇಲೆ ನಿಂತಿತು ಗೋವರ್ಧನ, ನಾರಿಯ ಸೀರೆಸೆಳೆದು ಸೋತ ದುಶ್ಯಾಸನ,!೨!
ಅರ್ಥ: ವಿಷದ ಅಹಂಕಾರದಿಂದ ಮೆರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕಾಳಿಂಗ ಸರ್ಪವನ್ನು ತುಳಿದವನು ಇವನು. ಬಡ ಗೆಳೆಯ ಕುಚೇಲನಿಗೆ ಅತುಲ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವನ್ನು (ಸಿರಿ) ನೀಡಿ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಆಲಿಂಗಿಸಿದವನು ಇವನು. ಬೆರಳ ತುದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೃಹತ್ ಗೋವರ್ಧನ ಗಿರಿಯನ್ನೇ ಎತ್ತಿ ಗೋಪಾಲಕರನ್ನು ಕಾಯ್ದ ಸಾಹಸಿ ಇವನು. ದ್ರೌಪದಿಯ ಸೀರೆ ಎಳೆದು ಅವಮಾನಿಸಲು ಬಂದ ದುಶ್ಯಾಸನನು ಸೋತು ಹೋಗುವಂತೆ ಅಕ್ಷಯ ವಸ್ತ್ರ ನೀಡಿದ ಮಹಾನುಭಾವ ಇವನು.
ಚರಣ ೩: ಸರ್ವರಕ್ಷಕ ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣ
ಕುಂತಿಯ ಸಂತೈಸಲು ನಿಂತ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತನ, ಸಂತರಿಗೇ ಅತಿಪ್ರಿಯ ಅಚ್ಯುತಾ ಅನಂತನ
ಶಿಷ್ಟರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ ದಿಟ್ಟ ವೆಂಕಟನಾಥನ, ದೃಪ್ಟಿ ಪಾದದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಟ್ಟು ನಂಬಿರೀತನೀಕ್ಷಣ!೩!
ಅರ್ಥ: ಸಂಕಷ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಕುಂತಿದೇವಿಯನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಾನಪಡಿಸಿ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ ಕರುಣಾಮಯಿ ಇವನು. ಸಾಧು-ಸಂತರಿಗೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪ್ರಿಯನಾದ ಅಚ್ಯುತ ಮತ್ತು ಅನಂತನಾದ ಇವನು, ಸದಾ ಸಜ್ಜನರನ್ನು (ಶಿಷ್ಟರನ್ನು) ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ದಿಟ್ಟ ದೇವ. ಅಂತಹ ವೆಂಕಟನಾಥನ ಪಾದಕಮಲಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು, ಈ ಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಅವನನ್ನು ನಂಬಿ ಧನ್ಯರಾಗಿ.

Meaning: "He is the one who trampled the serpent Kaliya when he displayed his wicked arrogance. He is the friend who embraced Sudama (Kuchela) and blessed him with immense wealth (Siri). Even though it was a massive mountain, Govardhana stood balanced on his tiny finger. He is the miracle-worker who caused Dushyasana to fail even as he tried to pull away Draupadi’s sari."
Charana 3: The Savior of the Righteous
Kuntiya santaisalu ninta śrīmantana...
Meaning: "He is the compassionate one who stood by Mother Kunti to comfort her. He is the 'Achyuta-Ananta' (Infallible and Infinite) who is most dear to the saints. As the bold Venkatanatha who protects the righteous (Shista), he deserves our full trust. Fix your vision (Drishti) on his feet and trust him this very moment."
