ಸಾರಾಂಶ (Summary)
ಈ ಕೀರ್ತನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾಣೇಶದಾಸರು ಶ್ರೀಹರಿಯನ್ನು (ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ, ಕೃಷ್ಣ, ನಾರಾಯಣ) ವಿವಿಧ ನಾಮಗಳಿಂದ ಸ್ತುತಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂಸಾರದ ಕಷ್ಟಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಹರಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಭಗವಂತನು ಹಿಂದೆ ಗಜೇಂದ್ರ, ದ್ರೌಪದಿ, ಸುಧಾಮ ಮುಂತಾದ ಭಕ್ತರನ್ನು ಸಲಹಿದ ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸುತ್ತಾ, "ನನ್ನ ಅಂತರಂಗವನ್ನು ಅರಿತು, ನನ್ನ ದುಷ್ಕರ್ಮಗಳನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡಿ ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸರ ಸಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊ" ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಪಲ್ಲವಿ:
ಪವಿತ್ರ ಗಂಗೆಯ ತಂದೆಯಾದವನೇ, ವೆಂಕಟ ಪರ್ವತದ (ತಿರುಪತಿ) ನಿವಾಸಿಯೇ, ಕೌಸಲ್ಯೆಯ ಸುಪುತ್ರನೇ ಬಾರೋ. ಮಂಗಳಪ್ರದನಾದ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯೇ, ಭವಸಾಗರದ ಭಯವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ನನ್ನ ಕಷ್ಟಗಳನ್ನು ಬೇಗನೆ (ತ್ವರಿತವಾಗಿ) ಪರಿಹರಿಸು. ಮನ್ಮಥನ ತಂದೆಯೇ, ಸಂಗರಹಿತನೇ (ನಿರ್ಲಿಪ್ತ), ಸತ್ಸಂಗ ಪ್ರಿಯನೇ, ಕರುಣಾ ಸಮುದ್ರನೇ, ಗರುಡವಾಹನನೇ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನಂಬಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
ಚರಣ ೧:
ಸ್ವಾಮಿ, ನನ್ನ ಮನದ ಮೊರೆಯನ್ನು ಲಾಲಿಸು. ಈ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಉದ್ಧರಿಸುವವರು ಬೇರೆ ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ನವನೀತ ಚೋರನೇ (ಬೆಣ್ಣೆ ಕಳ್ಳ), ಹಿಂದೆ ಆನೆ (ಗಜೇಂದ್ರ), ದ್ರೌಪದಿ, ಮುಚುಕುಂದ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಧಾಮನನ್ನು ಸಲಹಿದಂತೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನೂ ಸಲಹು. ಮೂರು ಲೋಕಗಳಿಗೂ ಆಧಾರವಾದ ಮಹಾತ್ಮನೇ ನೀನು.

ಆದಿಶೇಷನ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಲಗುವವನೇ (ವಾಸುಕೀ ಶಯನ), ದಯಾಸಂಪನ್ನನೇ, ನಾರಾಯಣನೇ. ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸರ ಗುಂಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನೂ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊ. ಗುಣಪೂರ್ಣನೇ, ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಪ್ರಸನ್ನನಾಗುವವನೇ, ಈ ಸಂಸಾರವೆಂಬ ಸಮುದ್ರವನ್ನು ಈಸಲಾರದೆ ನಾನು ಸೋತುಹೋಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಪರಾಶರ ಮುನಿಯ ಮಗನಾದ ವೇದವ್ಯಾಸ ರೂಪದವನೇ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೈಹಿಡಿ.
ಚರಣ ೩:
ನೀನು ನಿತ್ಯಾನಂದ ಸ್ವರೂಪಿ, ವೇದಗಳನ್ನು ಉದ್ಧರಿಸಿದವನು (ನಿಗಮೋದ್ಧಾರ), ಪೂತನಿಯ ಸಂಹಾರಕ. ಮೃತ್ಯುಂಜಯನಾದ ಶಿವನ ಗೆಳೆಯನೇ (ಸಖ), ಗದೆಯನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿದವನೇ (ಗದಾಧರ). ಭಕ್ತವತ್ಸಲನಾದ ನೀನು ಪಾರ್ಥನ (ಅರ್ಜುನನ) ಸಾರಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಅವನ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಸತ್ಯವಾದುದು.
ಚರಣ ೪:
ಮಂದರ ಪರ್ವತವನ್ನು ಬೆನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಧರಿಸಿದ ಗೋವಿಂದನೇ, ಯಶೋದೆಯ ಆನಂದವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿದ ನಂದನನೇ ಬಾರೋ. ಕೇಶವ, ಮುಕುಂದ, ವಾಮನ ರೂಪದವನೇ, ಸುಖದ ಗಣಿಯೇ. ತಂದೆಯಂತೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸು. ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾಯಾ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ದಣಿಸದೆ, ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ನಾಶಕನಾದ ಪ್ರಭುವೇ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡು.
ಚರಣ ೫:
ನನ್ನ ಅಂತರಂಗದ ಗುಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಬಲ್ಲ ಮಧುಸೂದನನೇ, ನನ್ನ ಮನದ ಆಸೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸು. ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದುಷ್ಕರ್ಮಗಳ ರಾಶಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವೂ ಉಳಿಸದೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನಾಶಮಾಡು. ಚಂತಾರಹಿತನಾದ ಮುರಾಂತಕನೇ, ಸದಾಕಾಲ ನನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿಸುತ್ತಾ ನಿಂತು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸು.
ಚರಣ ೬:
ಇಂದ್ರನಿಂದ ಪೂಜಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನೇ, ಬಲವಂತನೇ, ರುಕ್ಮಿಣೀಪತಿಯೇ. ದಂತವಕ್ತ್ರ ಎಂಬ ಅಸುರನ ಶತ್ರುವೇ, ಯಮಧರ್ಮರಾಜನು ಬಾಧಿಸದಂತೆ (ಮೃತ್ಯು ಭಯವಿಲ್ಲದಂತೆ) ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡು. ವಾಮನ ಅವತಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ತ್ರಿವಿಕ್ರಮ ಮೂರ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆದು ಅಸುರರ ಯುಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿಕ್ಕಿದವನೇ, ಅಕ್ರೂರನಿಗೆ ವರವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದವನೇ ಬಾರೋ.

ಕಂಸನ ಅನುಜ ಅಥವಾ ಕೃಷ್ಣನೇ, ಪ್ರಾಣೇಶ ವಿಠಲನೇ, ಗೋಕುಲದ ಗೋಪಾಲನೇ. ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನ (ಪಂಕಜಾಸನ) ತಂದೆಯೇ, ಶಕಟಾಸುರನ ಅಂತಕನೇ, ಜಾಂಬವತೀ ಪ್ರಿಯನೇ. ಶಂಕರನೇ ಮೊದಲಾದ ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಂದ ಸ್ತುತಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವವನೇ, ಗರುಡ ಧ್ವಜವುಳ್ಳವನೇ, ಸರ್ಪಶಯನನೇ (ಉರಗಪರ್ಯಂಕ), ನನಗೆ ಸುಖವನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸು.

Meaning: O Lord, listen to the inner cry of my heart. In this entire world, I see no one else but You who can truly uplift me. O Stealer of Butter (Krishna), just as You protected the Elephant (Gajendra), Draupadi, Muchukunda, and Sudama, please protect me too, O Great Soul who dwells in the three worlds.

Vasuki shayana daya sampanna Narayana...
Meaning: O Narayana, who reclines on the serpent Vasuki, You are filled with compassion. Let me play and serve among Your true devotees. O Perfect One, I am unable to swim across this vast ocean of worldly life (Samsara); I am exhausted. O Son of Parashara (Vedavyasa), save me.

Nityananda nigamoddhara putani samhara...
Meaning: You are Eternal Bliss, the rescuer of the Vedas (Nigama), and the slayer of the demoness Putana. You are the friend of Lord Shiva (the conqueror of death) and the wielder of the mace (Gada). You love Your servants and even became the humble charioteer for Partha (Arjuna). Your will is always Truth.

Mandarachala dharisida Govinda...
Meaning: O Govinda, who supported the Mandara Mountain (in the Kurma avatar), You brought joy to Mother Yashoda. O Keshava, Mukunda, and Vamana, You are the essence of happiness. O Father, protect me without exhausting me further with Your illusory powers (Maya), O Supreme Lord who defeats all enemies.
Stanza 5
Antarangava balla madhudweshi yannaya...
Meaning: O Slayer of Madhu, You know the secrets of my inner heart. Fulfill my soul's deepest desires. Completely destroy the mountain of my past bad deeds (Karma). Stay forever in my heart and shine brightly, O Infinite One, Slayer of Mura, You who are free from all anxieties.

Shakravarapujita balavanta rukmanipati...
Meaning: You are worshipped by Indra (Shakra) and are the powerful Lord of Rukmini. O Enemy of Dantavakra, ensure that the God of Death (Krutaanta) does not trouble me. O Trivikrama, who thwarted the clever tactics of Shukracharya and gave boons to Akrura, bless me with virtuous merits.

Kankanuju mandira pranesha vithala...
Meaning: O Pranesha Vithala, the protector of the cowherds in Gokula and the younger brother of Kamsa (referring to Krishna's lineage). O Father of Brahma, slayer of Shakatasura, and beloved of Jambavati! O Lord worshipped by Shankara and other gods, You who have the Garuda emblem on Your flag and recline on the serpent, grant me eternal bliss.
