ಅರ್ಥ: ನಮ್ಮ ಮುದ್ದು ರಂಗನು (ಕೃಷ್ಣನು) ಗೋಪಿಯರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಉತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದ ಓಕುಳಿಯನ್ನಾಡಿದನು (ಬಣ್ಣದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಎರಚಿದನು). ಸ್ವರ್ಗದ ರಂಭೆಯರಂತೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸುಂದರಿಯರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಆ ಗೋಪಿಕಾ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಸಲುಗೆಯಿಂದ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಕರೆದು (ರಂಬಿಸಿ), ಮುದ್ದಾಡಿ (ಚುಂಬಿಸಿ), ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಪ್ರೇಮದಿಂದ ಬಣ್ಣದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಒಗೆದನು (ಎರಚಿದನು).

ಅರ್ಥ: ಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಗೋಪಿಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ಎರಚುತ್ತಿರುವ ಆ ಓಕುಳಿಯ ನೀರು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾದದ್ದಲ್ಲ; ಅದು ಕದಂಬ ಪುಷ್ಪಗಳ ಸಾರ, ಕಸ್ತೂರಿ ಮತ್ತು ದುಂಬಿಗಳನ್ನು ಆಕರ್ಷಿಸುವಂತಹ (ಅಳಿ) ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಾದ ಶ್ರೀಗಂಧದ ಸುಗಂಧಿತ ದ್ರವ್ಯಗಳಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಸುಗಂಧದ ಬಣ್ಣದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಯಮುನಾ ತೀರದ ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲ ಗೋಪಿಯರು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರ ನಡುವೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಅಂದ-ಚಂದದಿಂದ ನಲಿಯುತ್ತಾ ಬಣ್ಣದಾಟವಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

ಅರ್ಥ: ರೇಷ್ಮೆಯ ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯಿರುವ (ಪಟ್ಟೆ ಮಂಚ) ದಿವ್ಯ ಮಂದಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುತ್ತಿನ ಹಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿ ಶೋಭಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ನಮ್ಮ ರಂಗನು, ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಭಕ್ತೆಯರಾದ ಗೋಪಿಯರ ವಕ್ಷಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ (ಕುಚಕ್ಕೆ) ಗುರಿಯಿಟ್ಟು, ಅವರು ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿ ಕುಟ್ಟಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ ಆ ಸುಗಂಧಿತ ಬಣ್ಣದ ನೀರನ್ನು (ಕುಟ್ಟಿದನೋಕುಳಿಯ) ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಎರಚಿ ಲೀಲೆ ತೋರಿದನು.

ಅರ್ಥ: ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರೆದಿದ್ದ ಹದಿನಾರು ಸಾವಿರ (ಆರ್ ಹತ್ತುಸಾವಿರ - ಆರು + ಹತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಅಂದರೆ ಹದಿನಾರು ಸಾವಿರ) ಗೋಪಿಕಾ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರೆಲ್ಲರ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿ, ಮನ್ಮಥನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ (ಮಾರನಯ್ಯ) ಆ ದಿವ್ಯ ಸುಂದರ ಶ್ರೀ ಪುರಂದರವಿಠಲನು ಪ್ರೇಮದ ಬಣ್ಣದ ಹೊಳೆಯನ್ನೇ ಹರಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಆನಂದದಿಂದ ಓಕುಳಿಯನ್ನಾಡಿ ಜಗತ್ತನ್ನು ಧನ್ಯಗೊಳಿಸಿದನು.

He affectionately coaxed and called out (Rambisi) to the beautiful Gopis—who are as stunning as the heavenly nymph Rambha (Rambheri)—and playfully kissing and embracing them (Cumbisi), He splashed the colorful, fragrant water right over them."
Charana 1 (The Fragrance of the Spring Festival)

Meaning: "The liquid color being thrown by Krishna is a divine, aromatic blend crafted out of exotic Kadamba blossoms, rare musk (Kasturi), and pure premium sandalwood paste (Gandha) whose fragrance is so potent that it attracts swarms of black bees (Ali). Carrying this wonderfully scented water, groups of stunning Gopis have stepped out of their homes. Right in the middle of them stands our Krishna, beautifully dancing and rejoicing as He plays Okuli in the most elegant and handsome manner."
