ತಾವರೆ ತಳಿತದ ನದಿಯ ಮನೆ

Pronounce 'ś' like the 'sh' in "shoe" and 'ṇ' and 'ḷ' with the tongue retroflexed against the roof of the mouth.

ಅರ್ಥ: ಪವಿತ್ರ ಗಂಗಾ ನದಿಯ ತೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಮನೆ ಇದೆ; ಕಾಶಿಯ ಬಿಂದುಮಾಧವ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಮಾತ್ಮನು ನೆಲೆಸಿರುವ ಆ ದಿವ್ಯ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಂತ ಮನೆ.

ರ್ಥ: ಸದಾಕಾಲವೂ ಆನಂದವನ್ನು ನೀಡುವ ಅರಮನೆಯಂತಹುದು, ತಾವರೆ ಹೂವುಗಳು ಪ್ರಫುಲ್ಲಿತವಾಗಿರುವ ನದಿಯ ತೀರದ ಮನೆ, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮದೇವನು (ಕಮಲಜ) ಅವತರಿಸಿದ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸ್ಥಳ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಸ್ತ ವೇದಗಳಿಗೆ ಮೂಲ ತೌರುಮನೆಯಾದದ್ದು ನಮ್ಮ ಈ ದಿವ್ಯ ಮನೆ.

ರ್ಥ: ಧ್ವಜ, ವಜ್ರ, ಅಂಕುಶ, ಶಂಖ ಹಾಗೂ ಚಕ್ರಗಳ ರೇಖೆಗಳಿಂದ ಅಲಂಕೃತವಾದ ಮನೆ; ಸತ್ಯವಾದ ಸುವರ್ಣ ರೇಖೆಗಳನ್ನು ತೋರುವ ಮನೆ. ಗಜೇಂದ್ರನಿಗೆ ಒಲಿದು, ಗರುಡ ವಾಹನನಾಗಿ, ತ್ರಿಲೋಕಗಳನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ ಪರಿಪಾಲಿಸುವ ಪರಮಾತ್ಮನ ದಿವ್ಯ ಸ್ವರೂಪವೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಮನೆ.

Meaning: Our home is on the banks of the sacred Ganga, residing eternally in Kashi at the shrine of Bindu Madhava!
Stanza 1
Āvāva kālada ānandaramane
tāvare taḷitada nadiya mane
āvāga kamalaja avatarisida mane
ā vēdaṁgaḷigella taurumane paṁcha ॥1||
Meaning: It is an abode of eternal bliss, situated by the river blossoming with lotuses; the sacred spot where Brahma (Kamalaja) incarnated, and the original maternal home (taurumane) of all the Vedas!
Stanza 2
Dhvajavajrāṁkuśarēkhā śaṁkhachakrada mane
nijasuvaṟnarēkhā tōruva mane
gajarājagolidantha garuḍa vāhananāda inthā mū-
rjaga trailokya māḍida mane paṁcha ॥2||
Meaning: It is a home adorned with sacred lines of flag, vajra, ankusha, conch, and discus, revealing pure golden radiance. It is the divine abode of the Lord who saved Gajendra, rides Garuda, and created the three worlds!

Paramapavitra charitra tīrthara mane
parabrahma rathake sādhanada mane
paramātmanāgi iṣṭārthavanīva śrī
varanāda purandaraviṭhalana mane paṁchā ॥3||
Meaning: It is the abode of supremely sacred saints and holy waters, the instrument for the chariot of Parabrahman. It is the divine home of Sri Purandaravithala, who as the Supreme Soul grants all cherished desires!
