Pronunciation Guide
Pronounce 'ś' like the 'sh' in "shoe" and 'ṇ' and 'ḷ' with the tongue retroflexed against the roof of the mouth.

ಅರ್ಥ: ಮಧುರನಾಥನಾದ (ಶ್ರೀಹರಿಯ) ದಿವ್ಯ ನಾಮವು ಸಕಲ ಮಧುರ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಮಧುರವಾದುದು. ಮೊಸರು, ಜೇನುತುಪ್ಪ, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೆ ಹಾಗೂ ದೇವಾನುದೇವತೆಗಳು ಉಣ್ಣುವ ಅಮೃತದ (ಸುಧೆಯ) ರಸಗಳಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಇದು ಮಧುರವಾದದ್ದು.

ಅರ್ಥ: ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಮುಖವನ್ನೂ, ಕಮಲದಂತಹ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ, ನಂದಗೋಕುಲದ ಕುಮಾರನಾದ ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಆ ಸುಂದರ ನಾಮವು ಪರಮ ಮಧುರವಾದುದು.

ಯದುಕುಲ ತಿಲಕನ ಸದಮಲ ಚರಿತನ
ಮದನ ಪಿತನ ನಾಮ ಮುದದಲಿ ಪಾಡಲು 2
ಅರ್ಥ: ಯದುಕುಲಕ್ಕೆ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನಾದವನಾದ, ನಿರ್ಮಲವಾದ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯುಳ್ಳವನಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಮನ್ಮಥನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ (ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನನ್ನು ಅಥವಾ ಕಾಮನನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿದ) ಭಗವಂತನ ನಾಮವನ್ನು ಆನಂದದಿಂದ (ಮುದದಲಿ) ಹಾಡಬೇಕು.

ಗಾನವಿಲೋಲನ ದಾನವ ಕಾಲನ

ಅರ್ಥ: ಸಂಗೀತಲೋಲನಾದ, ರಾಕ್ಷಸರ ಕಾಲನಾದ (ಯಮನಂತೆ ಸಂಹರಿಸುವ) ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯ ದಿವ್ಯ ಲೀಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸದಾ ಆಲಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಆತನನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡಬೇಕು.

ಅರ್ಥ: ಬಂಗಾರದಂತಹ (ಹಳದಿ) ವಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿದವನಾದ, ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಕೋಮಲವಾದ ರೂಪವುಳ್ಳವನಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಸತ್ಯಭಾಮೆಯ ಪ್ರಾಣಕಾಂತನಾದ ಶ್ರೀಹರಿಯ ಪ್ರೇಮದ ನಾಮವಿದು.

ಅರ್ಥ: ಆದಿಶೇಷನ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಲಗಿರುವವನಾದ, ಚಿನ್ಮಯ (ಜ್ಞಾನಸ್ವರೂಪ) ರೂಪನಾದ, ಭಕ್ತರು ಸ್ತುತಿಸಿದರೆ ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಒಲಿದು ಪ್ರಸನ್ನನಾಗುವ ಪ್ರಭುವಿನ ನಾಮವಿದು.

Sundaravadanana aravinda nayanana
nandakumārana caṁdada nāmavu 1
Meaning: The lovely name of the charming-faced, lotus-eyed, and beloved son of Nanda (Krishna) is truly enchanting.
Stanza 2
Yadukula tilakana sadamala caritana
madana pitana nāma mudadali pāḍalu 2
Meaning: To joyfully sing the name of the crown-jewel of the Yadus, the one of flawless character, and the father of Kama (or Lord of beauty)!
Stanza 3
Gānavilōlana dānava kālana
līlegaḷanu sadā lālisi pogaḷalu 3
Meaning: To always listen with devotion and praise the divine pastimes of the lover of music and the vanquisher of demons!

Hemavasanana kōmala rūpana

Meaning: The loving name of the Lord who wears golden garments, possesses a tender form, and is the beloved consort of Bhama (Sathyabhama).

Meaning: The name of the Lord resting upon the serpent bed, the embodiment of pure consciousness, who readily grants grace (prasanna) when praised by His devotees!
