Pronunciation Guide
Pronounce 'ś' like the 'sh' in "shoe" and 'ṇ' and 'ḷ' with the tongue retroflexed against the roof of the mouth.

ಅರ್ಥ: ಪರಮಾತ್ಮನಾದ ಶ್ರೀಹರಿಯ ರಾಣಿಯೇ (ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀದೇವಿಯೇ), ಕರುಣಾಕರನ ಪಾದಗಳ ಸ್ಮರಣೆಯನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ನೀಡಿ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೃಪೆಯಿಂದ ಕಾಪಾಡು.

ಅರ್ಥ: ಇಂದ್ರಾದಿ ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಂದ ವಂದಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವಳೇ, ಕಮಲದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವವಳೇ, ನೀನು ಬಂದು ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಲೌಕಿಕ ಮಮತೆಯನ್ನು ಯಾವುದೇ ಶ್ರಮವಿಲ್ಲದೆ (ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ) ಕಳೆದುಹಾಕು.

ಅರ್ಥ: ಮಂದರ ಪರ್ವತವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿದ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯ ಒಡತಿಯೇ, ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರತಿ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಸಂದು ಸಂದಿನ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿಂತು ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಡುವ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನೂ ಬೋಧೆಯನ್ನೂ ಕರುಣಿಸು.

ಅರ್ಥ: ಮಂಗಳಕರವಾದ ಶರೀರವಿರುವವಳೇ, ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮುಂಚಿತವಾಗಿ (ನೇರವಾಗಿ) ಕಾಣದೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಸೊರಗಿಹೋಗಿದೆ. ಮನ್ಮಥನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನೊdಡೆಯನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯೇ (ಅಥವಾ ವಿಷ್ಣುವಿನ ಜಾಯೆಯೇ), ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಯಾವುದೇ ಭಂಗಕ್ಕೆ (ಅಪಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ/ಕಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ) ಗುರಿಮಾಡದೆ ಬೇಗನೆ ರಕ್ಷಿಸು.

ಅರ್ಥ: ಪದ್ಮಸಂಭವನಿಗೆ (ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನಿಗೆ) ತಾಯಿಯಾದವಳೇ, ಮುದ್ದುಮೋಹನವಿಠಲನ ಚರಣಪದ್ಮಗಳನ್ನು ನೀನು ಒಲಿದು ನಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯವೆಂಬ ಪದ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸದಾ ಕಾಣುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡು.

Summary (English)
In this devotional song, Sri Muddumohana Dasaru earnestly prays to Goddess Mahalakshmi, the divine consort of the Supreme Lord, for protection and grace. He begs the Goddess to rid him of worldly attachments and grant him the remembrance of the Lord's lotus feet. Stanza 1
Amarēśa vandyaḷe kamalālaye nībandu
śramavillade yanneya mamatεyanu biḍisu ll1ll
Meaning: O Goddess worshipped by Indra and other gods, O dweller of the lotus, please come and effortlessly release us from our worldly attachments.
Stanza 2
Vasudēva sutana rāṇi asura saṁhāraḷē ninna
vaśavāda mēle aṁbhraṇiye nasunaguta īga ll2ll
Meaning: O queen of Vasudeva's son, destroyer of demons, O embodiment of Ambhrani, now that we have surrendered to you, please smile upon us and protect us.

Maṁdarōddhāra enna saṁdu sandali kāryava
nindu māḍisuṁ-thanannu caṁdadī bōdhava koṭṭu ll3ll
Meaning: O consort of the Lord who lifted Mount Mandara, grant us the supreme wisdom and guidance so that you may stand by us and accomplish all our endeavors beautifully at every step.

Maṁgaḷāṁgiye ninna muṁgāṇade soragide
aṅgajapitana jāyē bhaṅga paḍisade bēgā ll4ll
Meaning: O auspicious-bodied Mother, without beholding you first, our spirits droop. O consort of the Lord (who is the father of Kama), do not subject us to distress; save us quickly!
