ಮಹಿಪತಿ ದಾಸರ ಈ ಸುಂದರ ಕೀರ್ತನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ತುಂಟಾಟಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ನೆರೆಹೊರೆಯವರ ದೂರುಗಳನ್ನು ಗೋಪಿಯೊಬ್ಬಳು ಯಶೋದೆಯ ಬಳಿ ಬಂದು ಮುನಿಸಿನಿಂದ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ದೃಶ್ಯವಿದೆ. ಅರ್ಥ: ಓ ಯಶೋಮ್ಮ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಗ ಎಂಥವನಪ್ಪಾ! (ಅವನ ತುಂಟಾಟಗಳನ್ನು ವರ್ಣಿಸಲು ಅಸಾಧ್ಯ).
ಚರಣ 1
ಸವಿಸುಖ ಬಲ್ಲಿವ ನವನೀತ ಚೋರಾ
ಎವಿ ಹಾಕುತ ಬಾಹ ಪರನಾರೀ ಜಾರಾ ||೧||
ಅರ್ಥ: ಇವನು ಬೆಣ್ಣೆಯನ್ನು ಕದಿಯುವ ಚೋರ, ಸವಿಯಾದ ಸುಖವನ್ನು ಬಲ್ಲವನು. ಹೆಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಕಡೆ ಕಣ್ಣಿe ಕಣ್ಣೆಸೆದು (ಕಣ್ಣೆವಿ ಹಾಕುತ) ಬರುವ ಪರನಾರೀ ಜಾರನಂತೆ ವರ್ತಿಸುವವನು.

ಎಳೆವನು ಹಾದಿಯೊಳಗ ಸೆರಗಾ

ಅರ್ಥ: ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗುವವರ ಸೆರಗನ್ನು ಎಳೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಯಾರಾದರೂ ಸುಳುಹು ಕಂಡು ಬೈದರೆ, ನಾಚದೆ ತಾನೇ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ತಿರುಗಿ ನೋಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.

ಹಿಡಿದೇನಂದರ ಕೈಯೊಳು ಸಿಲುಕಾ
ಮಾಡಿ ಮಾಡರಿಧಾಂಗ ಇವ ಬಲು ಠಕ್ಕಾ ||೩||
ಅರ್ಥ: "ಇವನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದೇ ತೀರುತ್ತೇನೆ" ಎಂದರೆ ಕೈಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ತಾನೇ ತಪ್ಪು ಮಾಡಿ, ಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲದವನಂತೆ ನಾಟಕವಾಡುವ ಬಲು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಠಕ್ಕ ಇವನು.

ಹೇಳಬೇಕಿನ್ನಾರಿಗೆ ಈ ದೂರಾ

ಅರ್ಥ: ಈತನ ದೂ It ಅನ್ನು ಬೇರೆ ಯಾರಿಗೆ ತಾನೇ ಹೇಳುವುದು? ಓ ತಾಯಿಯೇ, ನೀನೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನ ಈ ಅತಿಚಾರಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಮ್ಮಾ.

ಬಿಡ ಇವನೆಂದೂ ಪಿಡಿದವರ ಕೈಯ್ಯಾ

ಅರ್ಥ: ಇವನನ್ನು ನಂಬಿದವರ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಭಕ್ತರನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವ ಆ ಮೂಢ ಮಹಿಪತಿ ದಾಸರ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಕೈಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

Stanza 2
Elevanu haadiyolaga seraga
Suluhu kandarendara ta tiraga ||2||
Meaning: He pulls at the hems of women's garments on the path. If someone spots him and reacts, he turns right around unbothered.
Stanza 3
Hidinehandara kaiyolu siluka
Madi madaridhanga iva balu thakka ||3||
Meaning: If you think, "I will catch him now," he slips right out of your hands. He acts innocent even after doing wrong—he is quite a trickster!
Stanza 4
Helabekinnarige ee doora
Tilidukollamma magana vichara ||4||
Meaning: To whom else can I report these complaints? Please understand the true nature and ways of your son, O mother!
Stanza 5
Bida ivanendu pididavara kaiyya
Bidade salahutiha mudha mahipatiya ||5||
Meaning: He never lets go of the hands of those who hold onto Him. He is the supreme Lord whom Mahipati Dasaru affectionately surrenders to.
