ಈ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಕೀರ್ತನೆಯು ಶ್ರೀ ಪುರಂದರದಾಸರಿಂದ ರಚಿತವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮದ ಗುರಿಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಪರಮಾತ್ಮನನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ಹಾದಿಯನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸರಳವಾಗಿ ತೋರಿಸಿಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ.
ಸಾರಾಂಶ (Summary)

ಪದಗಳ ಅರ್ಥ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾವಾರ್ಥ (Para-wise Meaning)
ಪಲ್ಲವಿ:
ಇಕೋ ನಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ
ಜಗಂತರ್ಯಾಮಿ ||
ಅರ್ಥ: ಇಗೋ ನೋಡಿ, ನಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯನಾದ ಶ್ರೀಹರಿಯು ಈ ಇಡೀ ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಕಣಕಣದಲ್ಲೂ ನೆಲೆಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅವನು ಎಲ್ಲರ ಒಳಗೂ ಇರುವ 'ಜಗಂತರ್ಯಾಮಿ'.
ಚರಣ ೧:
ಒಳಗೆ ನೋಡಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ
ಹೊಕ್ಕುವ ಪರಬೊಮ್ಮ
ಅಳಿಯಬೇಕೋ ಹಮ್ಮ
ತಿಳಿಯಬೇಕೋ ಧರ್ಮ ||
ಅರ್ಥ: ಪರಮಾತ್ಮನನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಹುಡುಕುವ ಬದಲು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯದೊಳಗೆ ಇಣುಕಿ ನೋಡಿ. ಆ ಪರಬ್ರಹ್ಮನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನೆಲೆಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಾಣಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಮೊದಲು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿರುವ 'ಹಮ್ಮು' (ಅಹಂಕಾರ) ಅಳಿಯಬೇಕು. ಆಗ ಮಾತ್ರ ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜವಾದ ಧರ್ಮದ ಅರಿವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ವಸ್ತು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ನೋಡಿ
ಸ್ವಸ್ಥದಿ ಮನನ ಮಾಡಿ

ಅರ್ಥ: ಲೌಕಿಕ ವಸ್ತುಗಳ ಮೇಲಿನ ವ್ಯಾಮೋಹವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ನೋಡಿ. ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಅತ್ತಿತ್ತ ಅಸ್ತವ್ಯಸ್ತವಾಗಿ ಅಲೆಯಲು ಬಿಡದೆ, ಪ್ರಶಾಂತವಾಗಿ (ಸ್ವಸ್ಥವಾಗಿ) ದೇವರನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಿ. ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಸಮಾನವಾಗಿ ಕಂಡು, ಎಲ್ಲರಲ್ಲೂ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕಾಣುತ್ತಾ ಜೀವನ ನಡೆಸಬೇಕು.

ಅರ್ಥ: ಗುರುವಿನ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ಪಡೆದು ಅವರ ಧ್ಯಾನ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಯಾರಿಗಾದರೂ ಕೇಡು ಸಂಭವಿಸುವುದೇ? ಖಂಡಿತ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಗುರುವಿನ ಕೃಪೆಯಿಂದ ಸದಾ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀಪತಿಯಾದ ಆ ಪುರಂದರ ವಿಠಲನನ್ನೇ ಮನಸ್ಸಾರೆ ಧ್ಯಾನಿಸಿರಿ. ಆ ಧ್ಯಾನವೇ ಜೀವನದ ಅಂತಿಮ ಸತ್ಯ.
ಈ ಕೀರ್ತನೆಯು "ಅಂತರಂಗದ ಹಾದಿಯೇ ಭಗವಂತನ ಹಾದಿ" ಎಂಬ ದಾಸರ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ವಿಚಾರವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

Vastu bittu nōdi
Swasthadi manana mādi
Astavyastaddādi sa-
mastarōdagūdi ||
Meaning: Look beyond material objects and worldly possessions. Contemplate on the Divine with a calm and steady mind (Swasthadi). Instead of letting your thoughts wander aimlessly (Astavyasta) or living in isolation, see the Divine in everyone and join the company of the righteous.
Stanza 3
Mutti gurudhyāna
Kettu hōguvudēnā
Mutti Lakshmipurandara
Vithalēshana dhyāna ||
Meaning: If you hold onto the meditation of your Guru, can you ever go astray or be ruined? Never. Therefore, with full devotion, touch the feet of the Lord and meditate upon Lakshmi Purandara Vithala. This divine focus is the only path to salvation.

Meaning: Look here(Iko) our master(swami) is the all pervading one.
C1: Look(noDi) inside(oLage) yourself, your pride(?) will go away, you must try to remove your identity(?), you must understand (tiLiyabeku) the dharma.
C2: one must try to live without attachment to things(vastu), manage a peaceful mind. This road (dAri) is uneven/difficult(astavyastada), (therefore) act in unison/cooperation with others(oDaguDi).
C3: pray to your Guru by touching(mutti), what would be lost (if you do that), pray lakshmi purandaravithal by touching him.
