ಶ್ರೀ ಪುರಂದರದಾಸರು ವಿರಚಿಸಿದ ಈ ಕೀರ್ತನೆಯು ಕನಕದಾಸರ 'ತಲ್ಲಣಿಸದಿರು ಕಂಡ್ಯ' ಕೀರ್ತನೆಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಸಾಮ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಹರಿಭಕ್ತರು ಭಗವಂತನ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಟ್ಟಿರಬೇಕಾದ ಅಚಲವಾದ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಇದು ಸಾರುತ್ತದೆ.
ಸಾರಾಂಶ (Summary)

ಭಾವಾರ್ಥ: ಎಲೈ ಮನಸ್ಸೇ, ಅನಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಆತಂಕಪಡಬೇಡ, ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಸಮಾಧಾನದಿಂದ ಇರು. ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಒಡೆಯನಾದ ಆ ಭಗವಂತನು ನಮ್ಮ ಜೊತೆಗೇ ಇದ್ದು ಸದಾ ಕಾಯುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಅನುಮಾನ ಬೇಡ.

ಭಾವಾರ್ಥ: ಯಾರೂ ತಲುಪಲಾರದ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ತುದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುವ ಮರಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ನೀರು ಸುರಿಯುವವರು ಯಾರು? ಅಥವಾ ಆ ಮರಗಳ ಸುತ್ತ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಕಟ್ಟೆ ಕಟ್ಟುವವರು ಯಾರು? ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ ಅವು ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತವೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಆ ಜೀವವನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿದ ಭಗವಂತನೇ ಅದರ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅಂದಮೇಲೆ ನಮಗೂ ಬೇಕಾದುದನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಅವನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿಯೇ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.

ಭಾವಾರ್ಥ: ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಸಂದುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟುವ ಕಪ್ಪೆಗಳಿಗೆ (ಮಂಡೂಕಂಗಳಿಗೆ) ಆ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಾದ ಜಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ತಲುಪಿಸುವವರು ಯಾರು? ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತನಾದ ಪುರಂದರ ವಿಠಲನು ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಅರಿತಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅವನೇ ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.

Summary
The kirtana is a gentle command to the restless mind to remain calm. Purandara Dasa argues that worry is unnecessary because the Lord, who brought us into this world, is duty-bound to sustain us. By pointing to trees on remote hilltops, wild animals in the jungle, and frogs inside stones, he proves that God’s grace reaches everywhere. He concludes that Purandara Vitthala will always protect His devotees.

Meaning: Who builds a protective wall or pours water for the trees growing on the distant peaks of mountains? When the Lord who created life has accepted the responsibility of being the "Guarantor," He will surely provide what is needed and protect us. Do not doubt this.
Stanza 2:
Aḍaviyoḷagāḍuva mr̥gajāti pakṣigaḷige aḍigaḍige āhāravittavaradāru
Paḍeda janiniyante sārathiyāgi tā biḍade rakṣisuvanu idake sandēhabēḍa
Meaning: Who provides food at every step for the various species of animals and birds roaming the wild forests? Like a mother who has given birth, the Lord acts as a charioteer for our lives and will protect us without ever leaving our side.
Stanza 3:
Kalloḷage puṭṭi kūguva maṇḍūkaṅgaḷige alli hōgi āhāravittavaradāru
Ballidanu purandaraviṭhalarāyanilladē rakṣipanu idake sandēhabēḍa
Meaning: Who goes to the frogs (Manduka) born inside the crevices of rocks and provides them with food in such a confined place? The Almighty King Purandara Vitthala is all-knowing; He will protect us without fail. Have no doubt.
