ಈ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಕೃತಿಯು ಶ್ರೀ ಜಗನ್ನಾಥದಾಸರ (ಅಂಕಿತ: ಜಗನ್ನಾಥವಿಠಲ) ರಚನೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ವಿಘ್ನನಿವಾರಕನಾದ ಗಣಪತಿಯನ್ನು ಕುರಿತಾದ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.

ಪದ್ಯದ ಭಾವಾರ್ಥ (Stanza-wise Meaning)
ಅಂಬಾತನಯ ಹೇರಂಬ ಕರುಣಾಂಬುಧೆ
ತವ ಚರಣಾಂಬುಜಕೆರಗುವೆ ||ಪ||
ಭಾವಾರ್ಥ: ಪಾರ್ವತಿಯ ಪುತ್ರನಾದ ಹೇರಂಬನೇ (ಗಣಪತಿ), ನೀನು ಕರುಣೆಯ ಸಮುದ್ರದಂತಿದ್ದೀಯೆ. ನಿನ್ನ ತಾವರೆಯಂತಹ ಪಾದಗಳಿಗೆ (ಚರಣಾಂಬುಜ) ನಾನು ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ನಮಸ್ಕರಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.

ಭಾವಾರ್ಥ: ಒಪ್ಪುವ ದಂತ (ದಶನ), ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೋದಕ, ಪಾಶ ಮತ್ತು ಅಂಕುಶಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿರುವವನೇ, ನೀನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸುಂದರನಾಗಿರುವೆ. ಅಸಮಾನ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವುಳ್ಳವನೇ, ಪದ್ಮನಾಭನಾದ (ಕುಸುಮನಾಭ - ವಿಷ್ಣು) ಪುತ್ರನಂತಿರುವವನೇ (ಗಣಪತಿಯನ್ನು ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ ವಿಷ್ಣುವಿನ ಅಂಶವೆಂದೂ ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ), ನಿನಗೆ ನಮನಗಳು.

ಭಾವಾರ್ಥ: ಸಕಲ ದೇವತೆಗಳ ಸಮೂಹದಿಂದ (ವೃಂದಾರಕವೃಂದ) ಪೂಜಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವ ಪಾದಕಮಲಗಳುಳ್ಳವನೇ, ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ದಯೆತೋರಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೃಪಾಕಟಾಕ್ಷದಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನೋಡು (ನನ್ನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸು).
ಯೂಥಪವದನ ಪ್ರದ್ಯೋತಸನ್ನಿಭ ಜಗ-
ನ್ನಾಥವಿಠಲನ ಸಂಪ್ರೀತಿ ವಿಷಯ ||೩||
ಭಾವಾರ್ಥ: ಆನೆಯ ಮುಖವುಳ್ಳವನೇ (ಯೂಥಪವದನ), ಕೋಟಿ ಸೂರ್ಯರಂತೆ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿಸುವವನೇ (ಪ್ರದ್ಯೋತಸನ್ನಿಭ), ನೀನು ಜಗನ್ನಾಥವಿಠಲನಿಗೆ (ಪರಮಾತ್ಮನಿಗೆ) ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪ್ರಿಯನಾದವನು. ಅಂತಹ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಭಕ್ತನಾದ ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸು.
ವಿಶೇಷ ಟಿಪ್ಪಣಿ:
ಜಗನ್ನಾಥದಾಸರ ಈ ಕೃತಿಯು ಗಣೇಶ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧವಾದುದು. ಇಲ್ಲಿ "ಕುಸುಮನಾಭನ ಪುತ್ರ" ಎನ್ನುವ ಪ್ರಯೋಗವು ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಮಗನಾದ ಪ್ರದ್ಯುಮ್ನನಿಗೂ ಅನ್ವಯಿಸುತ್ತದೆ (ಗಣಪತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರದ್ಯುಮ್ನರ ಅಭೇದ ಚಿಂತನೆ ದಾಸ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬರುತ್ತದೆ).

Daśana mōdaka pāśāṅkuśa pāṇi
Asama cārudēṣṇa kusumanābhana putra ||1||
Meaning: You hold a tusk (Dashana), a sweet treat (Modaka), a noose (Pasha), and a goad (Ankusha) in Your hands. O possessor of incomparable beauty! You are like the son of the one with the flower-navel (referring to Lord Vishnu/Krishna, as Ganesha is often philosophically identified with Pradyumna in this tradition).
Vṛndārakavṛndavandita caraṇāra-
Vindayugaḷa dayadinda nōḍenna ||2||
Meaning: Your pair of lotus feet are worshipped by the entire assembly of gods (Vrindaraka-vrunda). Please look upon me with compassion and bless me with Your grace.
Yūthapavadana pradyōtasannibha jaga-
Nnāthaviṭhalana samprīti viṣaya ||3||
Meaning: O elephant-faced one (Yuthapa-vadana)! You shine with the brilliance of the sun (Pradyota-sannibha). You are the beloved object of affection for Lord Jagannatha Vithala.
Key Philosophical Note:
In Haridasa Sahitya, especially in the works of Jagannatha Dasa, Ganesha is often identified with Pradyumna (one of the forms of Vishnu). This is why he is referred to as "Kusumanabhana Putra" (Son of Vishnu). It signifies that the power of Ganesha to remove obstacles comes directly from the Supreme Being.
