ಅರ್ಥ (Paragraph-wise Meaning)
ಪಲ್ಲವಿ:
ಅಗಜೆ ನಂದನಾ ಜಗವಂದ್ಯಾ ।।
ಅರ್ಥ: "ಪಾರ್ವತಿ ದೇವಿಯ (ಅಗಜೆ) ಪುತ್ರನೇ, ಇಡೀ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಿಂದ ನಮಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವವನೇ (ಜಗವಂದ್ಯ), ನಿನಗೆ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರಗಳು."
ಚರಣ 1:
ಇಭಪುರದರಸನ ವಿಭವದರ್ಚನೆಗೊಂಡು ।
ಅಭಯವ ನೀಡಿದ ಇಭರಾಜ ವದನಾ ।।
ಅರ್ಥ: "ಆನೆಯ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವವನೇ (ಇಭರಾಜ ವದನ), ಹಸ್ತಿನಾಪುರದ (ಇಭಪುರ) ಅರಸರು ಅಥವಾ ಭಕ್ತರು ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಮಾಡುವ ಪೂಜೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯನ್ನು (ಅಭಯ) ನೀಡುವವನು ನೀನು." (ಇಲ್ಲಿ 'ಇಭ' ಎಂದರೆ ಆನೆ, ಗಜೇಂದ್ರನಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಅಭಯವನ್ನೂ ಇದು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ).
ಚರಣ 2:
ವಾಸವಾನುಜನಾ ಲೇಸಾಗಿ ತುತಿಪಾ ಘನ್ನ ।
ಮೀಸಲ ಮನ ನೀಡೋ ವಾಸವಾರ್ಚಿತ ಚರಣಾ ।।
ಅರ್ಥ: "ಇಂದ್ರನ (ವಾಸವ) ತಮ್ಮನಾದ ಶ್ರೀಹರಿಯನ್ನು (ವಾಸವಾನುಜ) ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿ ಸ್ತುತಿಸುವ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಚೇತನವೇ ನೀನು. ಇಂದ್ರನಿಂದ ಪೂಜಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವವನೇ, ನನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಬೇರೆಲ್ಲೂ ಅಲೆಯದೆ ಕೇವಲ ಭಗವಂತನ ಸೇವೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಇರುವಂತಹ 'ಮೀಸಲಾದ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು' (ಏಕಾಗ್ರತೆ) ನನಗೆ ಕರುಣಿಸು."
ಚರಣ 3:
ಲೇಖಕಾಗ್ರಣಿ ಮನದ ವ್ಯಾಕುಲ ಬಿಡಿಸಯ್ಯ ।
ಶ್ರೀಕರವಿಠ್ಠಲ ಪ್ರೀಯ ನಾ ಕರ ಮುಗಿವೆನುಭಯಾ ।।
ಅರ್ಥ: "ಬರವಣಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನಾದವನೇ (ಲೇಖಕಾಗ್ರಣಿ - ಮಹಾಭಾರತವನ್ನು ಬರೆದವನು), ನನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನ ಆತಂಕಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಗೊಂದಲಗಳನ್ನು ನಿವಾರಿಸು ತಂದೆ. ಶ್ರೀಕರವಿಠ್ಠಲನಿಗೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪ್ರಿಯನಾದವನೇ, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಪಾದಗಳಿಗೆ ಎರಡು ಕೈಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಗಿದು ನಮಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸು."

ಕವಿ: ಕಲ್ಲೂರು ಜಗನ್ನಾಥಾಚಾರ್ಯರು (ಕಲ್ಲೂರು ಹತ್ತಿರದವರು).
ವಿಶೇಷತೆ: ಗಣಪತಿಯನ್ನು 'ಲೇಖಕಾಗ್ರಣಿ' ಎಂದು ಕರೆದಿರುವುದು ಗಮನಾರ್ಹ. ವ್ಯಾಸ ಮಹರ್ಷಿಗಳು ಮಹಾಭಾರತವನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವಾಗ ಗಣೇಶನು ಅದನ್ನು ಬರೆದನೆಂಬ ಪುರಾಣದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ ಈ ಸಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿದೆ.

Abhayava nīḍida ibharāja vadanā ||
Meaning: "O elephant-faced Lord (Ibharaja Vadana), you accept the grand worship (Vibhavadarchane) of the kings and devotees of Hastinapura (Ibhapura) and grant them protection (Abhaya)."
(Note: 'Ibha' means elephant; this also alludes to the protection granted to Gajendra, the elephant king).
Stanza 2:
Vāsavānujanā lēsāgi tutipā ghanna |
Mīsala mana nīḍō vāsavārchita charaṇā ||
Meaning: "O great one who beautifully praises the younger brother of Indra (Vasavanuja, referring to Lord Vishnu/Upendra). Your feet are worshipped by Indra (Vasava) himself. Grant me a 'dedicated mind' (Meesala Mana)—a heart that is reserved only for the service of the Divine."
Stanza 3:
Lēkhakāgraṇi manada vyākula biḍisayya |
Srīkaraviṭṭhala prīya nā kara mugivenubhayā ||
Meaning: "O Foremost of Scribes (Lekhakagrani), please remove the anxieties and turmoil of my mind. O beloved of Lord Srikaravittala, I fold both my hands in salutation and surrender to you."
