ಭಾಗ್ಯವೆ ಪಾಲಿಸು ಭಾರ್ಗವಿ, ಕಮಲಜ ಭಾರ್ಗಾದ್ಯನಿಮಿಷ ವರ್ಗಸೇವಿತೆ ||
ಅರ್ಥ: ಭೃಗು ಮಹರ್ಷಿಯ ಪುತ್ರಿಯಾದ (ಭಾರ್ಗವಿ) ಹೇ ಜನನಿ ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿಯೇ, ನನಗೆ ನಿಜವಾದ ಸೌಭಾಗ್ಯವನ್ನು ನೀಡು. ಬ್ರಹ್ಮದೇವ (ಕಮಲಜ), ಶಿವ (ಭಾರ್ಗ) ಹಾಗೂ ಸಕಲ ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಂದ ಸೇವಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವ ತಾಯಿಯೇ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಲಹುವ ಭಾಗ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸು.

ಅರ್ಥ: ಹರಿಯೇ ಸರ್ವೋತ್ತಮ, ಮಧ್ವಾಚಾರ್ಯರೇ (ಸುಖತೀರ್ಥರು) ಪರಮ ಗುರುಗಳು ಎಂಬ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ನೀಡು. ಶಿವ, ಶೇಷ, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ, ಇಂದ್ರಾದಿ ದೇವತೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ತರತಮ ಭೇದವು ಸತ್ಯವೆಂದು ಅರಿತು, ಪಂಚಭೇದಗಳ (ಮೂರೆರಡು) ತತ್ವವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದು ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಆನಂದ ಪಡುವಂತಹ ಸೌಭಾಗ್ಯವನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ನೀಡು.

ಕಾಮಕ್ರೋಧಗಳ ಗೆಲಿದು ಸತತನಿಷ್ಕಾಮ ಭಕ್ತಿಯಲಿ ಮನವುಬ್ಬಿ |

ಅರ್ಥ: ಆಸೆ (ಕಾಮ) ಮತ್ತು ಸಿಟ್ಟು (ಕ್ರೋಧ)ಗಳನ್ನು ಜಯಿಸುವ ಶಕ್ತಿ ನೀಡು. ಯಾವುದೇ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲಾಪೇಕ್ಷೆಯಿಲ್ಲದ (ನಿಷ್ಕಾಮ) ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಮನಸ್ಸು ತುಂಬಿ ಬರುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡು. ಸದಾ 'ರಾಮ ರಾಮ' ಎಂದು ಪ್ರೇಮದಿಂದ ಹಾಡುತ್ತಾ, ಮೈಮನವೆಲ್ಲಾ ರೋಮಾಂಚನಗೊಂಡು ನರ್ತಿಸುವಂತಹ ಭಕ್ತಿಯ ಸೌಭಾಗ್ಯವನ್ನು ನೀಡು.

ದುರ್ಜನ ಸಂಗ ವಿವರ್ಜಿಸಿ ನಿರುತದಿ ಸಜ್ಜನಸಂಗಸುಖವ ಬಯಸಿ |
ಅರ್ಜುನಸಖನ ಪದಾಬ್ಜಧ್ಯಾನ ದೊಳು ಗರ್ಜಿಸುತಲಿ ನಿರ್ಲಜ್ಜನೆನಿಪ ಸೌ ||
ಅರ್ಥ: ಕೆಟ್ಟವರ ಸಹವಾಸವನ್ನು (ದುರ್ಜನ ಸಂಗ) ದೂರಮಾಡಿ, ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಸಜ್ಜನರ ಸಹವಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಖವನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡು. ಅರ್ಜುನನ ಗೆಳೆಯನಾದ ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಪಾದಕಮಲಗಳ ಧ್ಯಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿ, ಲೋಕದ ಲಜ್ಜೆ (ನಾಚಿಕೆ) ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹರಿಯ ನಾಮವನ್ನು ಗರ್ಜಿಸುವಂತಹ ಧೈರ್ಯದ ಸೌಭಾಗ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸು.

ನಾನುನನ್ನದೆಂಬೊಹೀನ ಮತಿಯ ಕಳೆದೆನು ಮಾಡುತಿಹಕರ್ಮಗಳ |
ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸನ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆ ಎಂದು ಸದಾನುರಾಗದಲಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸುತಿಹ ಸೌ ||
ಅರ್ಥ: 'ನಾನು' ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ಇದು 'ನನ್ನದು' ಎಂಬ ಕೀಳು ಬುದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು (ಅಹಂಕಾರ) ನನ್ನಿಂದ ದೂರ ಮಾಡು. ನಾನು ಮಾಡುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಕೆಲಸವೂ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸನ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆಯಿಂದಲೇ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನಂಬಿ, ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಕರ್ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಭಗವಂತನಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವ ಸಮರ್ಪಣಾ ಭಾವದ ಸೌಭಾಗ್ಯವನ್ನು ನೀಡು.

ಆಶೆಬಿಡಿಸಿ ವರದೇಶ ವಿಠಲನ ದಾಸರ ದಾಸರ ದಾಸ ನೆನಿಪ ಸೌ ||
ಅರ್ಥ: ತುಂಬಿ ತುಳುಕುವ ಭಕ್ತಿ, ವೈರಾಗ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಜ್ಞಾನವೆಂಬ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯದ ರಾಶಿಯನ್ನೇ ನನಗೆ ನೀಡು. ಲೌಕಿಕ ಸುಖಗಳ ಮೇಲಿನ ಆಸೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸಿ, ವರದೇಶ ವಿಠಲನ ದಾಸರ ದಾಸರ ದಾಸನಾಗಿ ಬದುಕುವಂತಹ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಾದ ದಾಸ್ಯದ ಸೌಭಾಗ್ಯವನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಪಾಲಿಸು.

Stanza 1 (Knowledge of Hierarchy)

Meaning: Grant me the wisdom to understand that Lord Hari is supreme (Hari Sarvottama) and Madhvacharya (Sukhatirtha) is the great Guru. Let me find joy in knowing the true hierarchy (Taratama) and the five-fold differences (Pancha-bheda) among the gods like Shiva, Shesha, Brahma, and Indra.
Stanza 2 (Conquering the Ego)
Kāmakrōdhagaḷa gelidu satataniṣkāma bhaktiyali manavubbi |
Rāma rāma end prēmadi pāḍuta rōmāñcita tanuvilinartipa sau ||
Meaning: Give me the strength to conquer desire (Kama) and anger (Krodha). Fill my heart with selfless devotion (Nishkama Bhakti). Grant me the joy of singing "Rama, Rama" with such love that my body shivers with divine emotion and I dance in ecstasy.
Stanza 3 (The Company of the Good)
Durjana saṅga vivarjisi nirutadi sajjanasaṅgasukhava bayasi |
Arjunasakhana padābjadhyāna doḷu garjisutali nirlajjanenipa sau ||
Meaning: Let me avoid the company of the wicked and always seek the happiness found in the company of the righteous (Sajjana). Grant me the courage to meditate on the lotus feet of Krishna (Arjuna's friend) and chant His name loudly, unbothered by what the world thinks of me.
Stanza 4 (Surrender of Agency)
Nānunannadembohīna matiya kaḷedenu māḍutihakarmagaḷa |
Śrīnivāsana prēraṇe endu sadānurāgadali arpisutiha sau ||
Meaning: Remove the lowly thought of "I" and "Mine" (ego). Let me believe that every action I perform is prompted by Lord Srinivasa. Grant me the fortune of offering all my deeds to Him with constant love and devotion.
Stanza 5 (The Ultimate Wealth)
Sūsuva bhakti virakti jñānadhana rāśiya kōṭṭībhavasukhada |
Āśebiḍisi varadēśa viṭhalana dāsara dāsara dāsa nenipa sau ||
Meaning: Bestow upon me a mountain of overflowing devotion, detachment, and knowledge. Take away my desire for worldly pleasures and grant me the greatest fortune of all—to be known as the servant of the servant of the servants of Lord Varadesha Vittala.
