ಶ್ರೀ ಪುರಂದರದಾಸರು ರಚಿಸಿರುವ ಈ ಸುಂದರ ಕೃತಿಯು ಹನುಮಂತನ ಬಾಲರೂಪ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವನ ಅಪಾರ ಮಹಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಹನುಮಂತನು ಕೇವಲ ಶಕ್ತಿಯ ರೂಪವಲ್ಲ, ಅವನು ಭಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ನೀಡುವ ಗುರು ಎಂದು ದಾಸರು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬಣ್ಣಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಸಾರಾಂಶ (Summary)

ಅರ್ಥ (Meaning)
ಪಲ್ಲವಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅನುಪಲ್ಲವಿ:
ಇಕ್ಕೋ ನೋಡಿರೆ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಹನುಮಂತಾ || ಇಕ್ಕೋ ನೋಡಿರಿಂತ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಹನುಮಂತಾ ಭಕ್ತಿ ಕೊಡುವಂತ ಭಾರತಿಕಾಂತ
ಅರ್ಥ: ಇಗೋ ನೋಡಿ, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಹನುಮಂತನಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಈತನು ಸಾಧಾರಣನಲ್ಲ; ನಮಗೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಭಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುವವನು ಮತ್ತು ಭಾರತಿ ದೇವಿಯ ಪತಿಯಾದ ಮುಖ್ಯಪ್ರಾಣ ದೇವರು (ಭಾರತಿಕಾಂತ).
ಚರಣ ೧ (ರಾಮದೂತನ ಮಹಿಮೆ):
ರಾಮ ದೂತನೆ ಬಹು ಶೂರನೀತ| ರಾಮಚಂದ್ರಗಾಗಿ ಜಲಧಿದಾಟಿ ಪೋಗಿ| ಸೀತೆಗೆ ಉಂಗುರವನ್ನಿತ್ತ ಮಹಾನುಭಾವ||
ಅರ್ಥ: ಈತನು ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ನಂಬಿಕಸ್ತ ಮತ್ತು ಶೂರ ದೂತ. ರಾಮನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ವಿಶಾಲವಾದ ಸಮುದ್ರವನ್ನೇ ಹಾರಿ ಲಂಕೆಗೆ ಹೋದವನು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ದುಃಖದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಸೀತಾಮಾತೆಗೆ ರಾಮನ ಗುರುತಾದ ಉಂಗುರವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಧೈರ್ಯ ತುಂಬಿದ ಮಹಾನುಭಾವ ಇವನು.
ಚರಣ ೨ (ಗುಣ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಭಾವ):
ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕೇಳಿರೆ ವಲ್ಲಭನ ಮಹಿಮೆ| ತಲ್ಲನಯನ ಪಾಲ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ ಲೋಲ| ಒಳ್ಳೆ ಗುಣಶೀಲ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಪ್ರಭಲ||
ಅರ್ಥ: ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಕೇಳಿ, ಈ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯ ಮಹಿಮೆಯು ಅಪಾರವಾದುದು. ಭಕ್ತರನ್ನು ಪಾಲಿಸುವ ಇವನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಮೃದು ಸ್ವಭಾವದವನು (ಲೋಲ) ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ತಮ ಗುಣಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದವನು. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದರೆ ಈ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇವನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯು ಬಹಳ ಪ್ರಬಲವಾಗಿದೆ.
ಚರಣ ೩ (ಶೌರ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ರಕ್ಷಣೆ):
ಅಪಾರ ಮಹಿಮ ಬಹು ಶೂರನೀತ| ಅಂಜನಿಯ ಕಂದಾ ಸಂಜೀವಿನಿಯ ತಂದ| ನರಸಿಂಹ ದೂತ ನಮ್ಮ ಪೊರೆವಧಾತ||
ಅರ್ಥ: ಅಂಜನಾದೇವಿಯ ಪುತ್ರನಾದ ಇವನು, ಯುದ್ಧದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನ ಪ್ರಾಣ ಉಳಿಸಲು ದ್ರೋಣಗಿರಿಯಿಂದ ಸಂಜೀವಿನಿ ಮೂಲಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ತಂದವನು. ಈತನು ನರಸಿಂಹ ದೇವರ ದೂತನೂ ಹೌದು. ಇಂತಹ ಶೂರ ಹನುಮಂತನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸದಾ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ದಾತ (ಪೋಷಕ).

Meaning: Look here, behold the little Hanuman! Behold this young Hanuman, who is the giver of pure devotion (Bhakti). He is the Lord of Goddess Bharati (Bharatikanta), the supreme life-force (Mukhyaprana).
First Stanza (The Messenger of Rama)
Rama dutane bahu shuraneeta |
Ramachandragagi jaladhidati pogi |
Seetege unguravannitta mahanubhava ||
Meaning: He is the messenger of Lord Rama and a great warrior. For the sake of Ramachandra, he leaped across the vast ocean (Jaladhi). He is the great soul who reached Lanka and handed over the signet ring to Mother Sita to give her hope.
Second Stanza (His Virtues)
Ella kelire vallabhana mahime |
Tallanayana pala nillisida lola |
Olle gunasheela illi bahala prabhala ||
Meaning: Listen, everyone, to the glories of this beloved Lord! He is the protector of those who are distressed and is fond of his devotees. Possessing the finest virtues and character (Gunasheela), his power is immensely formidable in this world.
Third Stanza (The Heroic Son of Anjana)
Apara mahima bahu shuraneeta |
Anjaniya kanda Sanjeeviniya tanda |
Narasimha duta namma porevadhata ||
Meaning: His glory is infinite, and he is a mighty hero. The son of Anjana (Anjaniya kanda), he brought the Sanjivani mountain to save lives during the war. He is also the servant of Lord Narasimha and the benevolent protector who sustains us all.
