ಕಾಖಂಡಕಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಮಹಿಪತಿರಾಯರ ಈ ಸುಂದರ ಕೃತಿಯ ಸಾರಾಂಶ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ಯಾರಾವಾರು ಅರ್ಥ ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ:
ಸಾರಾಂಶ (Summary)
ಈ ಕೀರ್ತನೆಯು ಒಬ್ಬ ಪರಮ ಭಕ್ತನು ದೈವವನ್ನು (ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀಹರಿಯನ್ನು 'ತಾಯಿ' ಎಂದು ಸಂಬೋಧಿಸಿರಬಹುದು ಅಥವಾ ಜಗನ್ಮಾತೆಯನ್ನು) ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಆರ್ತತೆಯಿಂದ ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮೊರೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಅರ್ಥ (Paragraph-wise Meaning)
ಪಲ್ಲವಿ:
ಅಮ್ಮಾ ಬಾ ನಮ್ಮಮ್ಮನೆ ಅಮ್ಮ ನೀಡಮ್ಮನೆ
ಬೊಮ್ಮನಾ ಪಡೆದ ಶ್ರೀಹರಿ ಪರಬ್ರಹ್ಮನೆ ||
ಅರ್ಥ: "ಅಮ್ಮಾ, ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬಾ ತಾಯಿ. ಬ್ರಹ್ಮದೇವನನ್ನೇ ತನ್ನ ನಾಭಿಯಿಂದ ಪಡೆದ ಆ ಶ್ರೀಹರಿಯೇ, ಪರಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ಸ್ವರೂಪಿಯೇ, ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡು, ಅಭಯ ನೀಡು." (ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಹರಿಯನ್ನು ತಾಯಿಯ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ಜಗನ್ಮಾತೆಯನ್ನು ಹರಿಯ ಸ್ವರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಪತಿರಾಯರು ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ).
ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ಪದ್ಯ:
ಬೇಡುವೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನೆ ಕಾಡುವೆ ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ
ಓಡ್ಯಾಡಿ ಬಂದು ಅಂಡಲಿವೆ ನಾ ತಮ್ಮನೆ ||
ಅರ್ಥ: "ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಹಟ ಮಾಡಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಈ ಪ್ರಪಂಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ಓಡಾಡಿ, ಅಲೆದಾಡಿ ದಣಿದು ಬಂದಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ (ತಮ್ಮನೆ/ತಮ್ಮ) ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಈಗ ನೀನು ಸಲಹಬೇಕು."
ಎರಡನೆಯ ಪದ್ಯ:
ಬಯಸಿ ಬಂದೊಡೆ ನಾ ಕಾಯಬೇಕೆನ್ನನ
ತಾಯಿ ತಂದ್ಯೊಬಳೆ ನೀನೇ ಸನಾತನ ||
ಅರ್ಥ: "ಬಹಳ ಆಸೆಯಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿ ಬಂದಿರುವ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನೀನೇ ಕಾಯಬೇಕು (ರಕ್ಷಿಸಬೇಕು). ನನಗೆ ತಾಯಿಯೂ ನೀನೇ, ತಂದೆಯೂ ನೀನೇ. ಅನಾದಿಕಾಲದಿಂದ ಇರುವ ಆ ಸನಾತನ ಶಕ್ತಿ ನೀನೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದೀಯ."
thirdನೆಯ ಪದ್ಯ:
ಉಣಿಸು ನಾಮಾಮೃತ ದಣಿಸು ಮನೋರಥ
ದೀನ ಮಹಿಪತಿ ಜೀವ ಪ್ರಾಣಕ ಸನಾಥ ||
ಅರ್ಥ: "ನಿನ್ನ ಪವಿತ್ರವಾದ ನಾಮವೆಂಬ ಅಮೃತವನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಉಣಿಸು. ನನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನ ಆಸೆಗಳನ್ನು (ದೈವದರ್ಶನದ ಹಂಬಲವನ್ನು) ತಣಿಸು. ಈ ದೀನನಾದ ಮಹಿಪತಿಯ ಜೀವಕ್ಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ನೀನೇ ಗತಿ, ನೀನೇ ಏಕೈಕ ರಕ್ಷಕ (ಸನಾಥ)."
ಈ ಕೃತಿಯು ಮಹಿಪತಿರಾಯರ ಆತ್ಮನಿವೇದನೆ ಮತ್ತು ದೈವದ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಅವಲಂಬನೆಯನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸರಳ ಹಾಗೂ ಸುಂದರ ಪದಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

Amma ba nammammane amma nidammane
Bommana padeda srihari parabrahmane
Meaning: "O Mother, come to our home; Mother, pray, grant me your presence. You are the Supreme Brahman, the Sri Hari who gave birth even to Lord Brahma (the creator)."
(Note: Mahipathiraya often addresses the Supreme Lord with the intimacy of a mother's form).
First Verse
Beduve nimmane kaduve summane
Odyadi bandu andalive na tammane
Meaning: "I beg of you; I persist and haunt you with my prayers. Having run and wandered everywhere in this world, I have come back exhausted. I am your child (your little one); please take me in."
Second Verse
Bayasi bandode na kayabekennana
Tayi tandyobale nine sanatana
Meaning: "Since I have come to you with such great longing, it is your duty to protect me. You alone are both mother and father to me; you are the Ancient, Eternal truth (Sanatana)."
Third Verse
Unisu namamruta danisu manoratha
Dina mahipati jiva pranaka sanatha
Meaning: "Feed me the nectar of your Holy Name and fulfill the deepest desires of my heart. For this humble Mahipathi, you are the only Lord and the true refuge for my very life and soul."
