ಪ್ರಸನ್ನ ವೆಂಕಟದಾಸರ ಈ ಕೃತಿಯು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಭಕ್ತಿಪೂರ್ವಕವಾದ ಸ್ತುತಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಹಾಡಿನ ಸಾರಾಂಶ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ಯಾರಾವಾರು ಅರ್ಥ ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ:

ಸಾರಾಂಶ (Summary)

ಈ ಹಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸನ್ನ ವೆಂಕಟದಾಸರು ಶ್ರೀಹರಿಯನ್ನು ಕರುಣಾ ಸಮುದ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ಅನಾಥ ಬಂಧು ಎಂದು ಕೊಂಡಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಭಗವಂತನು ತನ್ನ ಭಕ್ತರಿಗೆ ಅಭಯವನ್ನು ನೀಡುವವನು, ರಾಕ್ಷಸರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿ ಜಗತ್ತನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವವನು ಎಂದು ವರ್ಣಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ತಮ್ಮ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಹರಿಸಿ ದಿನನಿತ್ಯವೂ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಲಹಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ವಿನಮ್ರವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

 ಅರ್ಥ (Paragraph-wise Meaning)

ಪಲ್ಲವಿ:

ಅನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಬಂಧು ಅತಿದಯಾಸಿಂಧು ಆನತ

ನಾನೆಂದು ಅಭಯ ನೀಡಿಂದು ||

ಅರ್ಥ: ಯಾವುದೇ ಕಾರಣ ಅಥವಾ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವವನು (ಅನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಬಂಧು), ದಯೆಯ ಸಾಗರವೇ ಆಗಿರುವವನು (ದಯಾಸಿಂಧು) ನೀನು. ನಿನ್ನ ಚರಣಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಾಗಿ ನಮಸ್ಕರಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ (ಆನತ) ನನಗೆ, "ನಾನಿದ್ದೇನೆ" ಎಂದು ಇಂದು ಅಭಯವನ್ನು ನೀಡು.

ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ಚರಣ:

ಮಧುಕೈಟಭಾರಿ ಮುರಾಂತಕೋದಾರಿ

ಮದನೋದ್ಭವಕಾರಿ ಮನ್ನಿಸೆನ್ನನುದಾರಿ || ೧ ||

ಅರ್ಥ: ಮಧು ಮತ್ತು ಕೈಟಭ ಎಂಬ ರಾಕ್ಷಸರ ಶತ್ರುವೇ (ಮಧುಕೈಟಭಾರಿ), ಮುರ ಎಂಬ ರಾಕ್ಷಸನನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿದ ಉದಾರಿ ನೀನು. ಮನ್ಮಥನ ತಂದೆಯೇ (ಮದನೋದ್ಭವಕಾರಿ), ನನ್ನ ತಪ್ಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸಿ (ಮನ್ನಿಸು), ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಉದ್ಧಾರ ಮಾಡು.

ಎರಡನೆಯ ಚರಣ:

ವೈಕುಂಠಸದನ ವಜ್ರಾಭರಣ ಶ್ರೀಕರವದನ

ಸಲಹೆನ್ನನುದಿನ || ೨ ||

ಅರ್ಥ: ವೈಕುಂಠವೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಾಗಿದೆ (ವೈಕುಂಠಸದನ), ನೀನು ವಜ್ರ ವೈಢೂರ್ಯಗಳ ಆಭರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿದವನು. ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಖವು ಮಂಗಳಕರವಾಗಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಂತಿಯುತವಾಗಿದೆ (ಶ್ರೀಕರವದನ). ಇಂತಹ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವುಳ್ಳ ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿ ದಿನವೂ ಕಾಪಾಡು.

ಮೂರನೆಯ ಚರಣ:

ಬಿಸಜಜನಯ್ಯ ಬರುಹಿ ಸುರಯ್ಯ

ಪ್ರಸನ್ನವೆಂಕಟಯ್ಯ ಪಾಪವಾರಿಸಯ್ಯ || ೩ ||

ಅರ್ಥ: ಬ್ರಹ್ಮದೇವನ ತಂದೆಯೇ (ಬಿಸಜಜನಯ್ಯ - ಕಮಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನ ತಂದೆ), ದೇವತೆಗಳ ಒಡೆಯನೇ (ಸುರಯ್ಯ), ಬೇಡಿದವರಿಗೆ ಒಲಿಯುವ ಪ್ರಸನ್ನ ವೆಂಕಟನೇ, ನನ್ನ ಸರ್ವ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ದೂರ ಮಾಡಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಪವಿತ್ರಗೊಳಿಸು.

In this composition, Prasanna Venkata Dasaru addresses Lord Vishnu (Venkateshwara) as the "Unconditional Relative" and the "Ocean of Mercy." Madhukaitabhari murantakodari

Madanodbhavakari mannisennanudaari

Meaning: You are the enemy of the demons Madhu and Kaitabha (Madhukaitabhari) and the generous destroyer of the demon Mura (Murantaka). You are the father of Manmatha, the God of Love (Madanodbhavakari). O Magnanimous Lord, please forgive my mistakes and uplift my life.

Charana 2

Vaikunthasadana vajrabharanashreekaravadana

Salahennanudina

Meaning: Your home is the eternal Vaikuntha. You are adorned with brilliant diamond ornaments. Your face is the source of all prosperity and auspiciousness (Shreekaravadana). I pray to you to nourish and protect me every single day.

Charana 3

Bisajajanayya buruhi surayya

Prasannavenkatayya paapavaarisayya

Meaning: You are the father of Lord Brahma, who was born from the lotus (Bisajajanayya). You are the king and protector of the Devas (Surayya). O Prasanna Venkata (the poet’s signature/Ankita), please ward off all my sins and purify me.

Technical Note:

Animitta Bandhu: This is a beautiful philosophical term. Most worldly relations have a "Nimitta" (a reason or motive). Calling God "Animitta" signifies that His love is causeless and purely out of grace.

Bisajaja: Derived from Bisaja (Lotus) + Ja (Born), referring to Brahma.
