ಅರ್ಥ: ಓ ವೆಂಕಟೇಶನೇ, ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನಾನು ಹೇಗೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲಿ? ನನ್ನ ಅಂತರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಸದಾ ನೀನು ನೆಲೆಸಿರು.

ಅರ್ಥ: ಕುಣಿಯುವುದರಿಂದ ಅಥವಾ ನಿನಗೆ ನಮಸ್ಕರಿಸುವುದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೇ? ಸನಕಾದಿ ಯೋಗಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಿಯನೇ, ನೀನು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯನಲ್ಲ.

ಅನ್ನವಿತ್ತು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವೆನೆ ಘನ್ನ ನಿತ್ಯ ತೃಪ್ತ ನೀನು | ಹೆಣ್ಣನಿತ್ತು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವೆನೆ ಹೆಣ್ಣುರೂಪ ನೀನೆ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ||
ಅರ್ಥ: ನಿನಗೆ ಅನ್ನ ನೀಡುವೆನೇ? ನೀನೇ ನಿತ್ಯ ತೃಪ್ತ. ಹೆಣ್ಣನ್ನು ನೀಡುವೆನೇ? ಸಕಲ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರೂ ನಿನ್ನ ರೂಪವೇ ಅಲ್ವೇ.

ಅಪ್ಪ ನಿನ್ನ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವೆನೆ ದರ್ಪಾಕ ಬೊಮ್ಮನ ತಂದೆ | ಅಪ್ಪ ನಿನ್ನ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವೆನೆ ಸುಪ್ಪಾಣಿ ರಮೆಯರಸಾ ||
ಅರ್ಥ: ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು 'ಅಪ್ಪ' ಎಂದು ಕರೆದು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವೆನೇ? ನೀನೇ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನ ತಂದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀದೇವಿಯ ಪತಿ.

ಅರ್ಥ: ನಿನಗೆ ಹಾಲು ನೀಡುವೆನೇ? ನೀನು ಕ್ಷೀರಸಾಗರದ ವಾಸಿ. ಮಾಲೆ ಹಾಕುವೆನೇ? ನೀನೇ ಕೌಸ್ತಭ ಮಣಿಯನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿದವನು.
ಚರಣ 5:
ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವೆನೆ ಪಾವಮಾನಿ ತಾತ ನೀನು | ಆವದೊ ಕಾಣೆನೋ ಎನ್ನ ಕಾವುದು ವಿಜಯವಿಠ್ಠಲಾ ||
ಅರ್ಥ: ನಿನಗೆ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡುವೆನೇ? ನೀನೇ ಪಾವಮಾನ (ವಾಯು)ನ ತಾತ. ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ದಾರಿ ನನಗೆ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ, ವಿಜಯ ವಿಠಲನೇ ನೀನೇ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡು.

Summary
In this Kirtana, Vijaya Dasaru humbly questions how a mere mortal can please the Lord of the Universe, Venkatesha. He reflects that since the Lord is the source of everything—food, beauty, life, and the universe itself—human offerings are insignificant. He realizes that the only way to attain Him is through true surrender and begs Lord Vijaya Vithala to protect him, as he finds no other way to please the Infinite.

Meaning: Can I please You with food? You are the Supreme One who is eternally satisfied. Can I please You by offering a woman? You Yourself are the feminine form, O Lord.

Meaning: Can I please You by calling You 'Father'? You are the father of Brahma. You are the Lord of Goddess Lakshmi.

Meaning: Can I please You by offering milk? You reside in the Ocean of Milk. Can I please You by offering a garland? You are the one who wears the Kaustubha jewel.

Kavudu vijayaviththala ||
Meaning: Can I please You by serving? You are the grandfather of Pavamani (Vayu). I see no way to please You; O Vijaya Vithala, please protect me.
