ಸಾರಾಂಶ (Summary)

ಈ ಹಾಡು ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಚಂದ್ರನಿಗೆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಆರತಿ ಬೆಳಗುವ ಸಂದರ್ಭವನ್ನು ವರ್ಣಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ದಶರಥ ಮಹಾರಾಜನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಪುತ್ರನೂ, ಭರತನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ತಮ್ಮನೂ ಆದ ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ಮಂಗಳಾರತಿಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಚಂದ್ರನಂತಹ ಮುಖವುಳ್ಳ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ಮಂದಹಾಸದಿಂದ, ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳನ್ನು ಚಂದವಾಗಿ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಆ ದಯಾಮಯಿ ರಾಮನನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ, ಅಹಂಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಘೋರ ರಾವಣನ ಗರ್ವವನ್ನು ಅಡಗಿಸಿ, ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಿಯ ಪತ್ನಿ ಸೀತಾದೇವಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇಮದಿಂದ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ ಆ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಿ ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ನಾರಿಯರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಸೇರಿ ಆರತಿಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಈ ಹಾಡಿನ ಆಶಯವಾಗಿದೆ.

ವಿವರಣೆ (Verse-wise Meaning)

ಪಲ್ಲವಿ:

"ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮಗೆ ಆರುತಿಯನು ನಾರಿಯರು ಬೆಳಗುವೆವು"

ಅರ್ಥ: ಸಕಲ ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಒಡೆಯನಾದ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಚಂದ್ರನಿಗೆ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಮಂಗಳಾರತಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

ಚರಣ ೧:

"ದಶರಥನ ಪ್ರೇಮ ಪುತ್ರನಿಗೆ ಭರತನ ಅನುಜಗೆ ಪಾಲಗೆ"

ಅರ್ಥ: ದಶರಥ ಮಹಾರಾಜನಿಗೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಮಗನಾದವನಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಭರತನ ಮುದ್ದಿನ ತಮ್ಮನಾದ ಆ ರಾಮನಿಗೆ (ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಲಹುವ ಪಾಲಕನಿಗೆ) ಈ ಆರತಿ ಅರ್ಪಿತ.

ಚರಣ ೨:

"ಇಂದು ವದನೆಯರ ಮಂದ ಹಾಸದಿಂದ ಚಂದದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳ ಪೊರೆದಗೆ"

ಅರ್ಥ: ಚಂದ್ರನಂತಹ ಮುಖವುಳ್ಳ (ಇಂದು ಅಂದರೆ ಚಂದ್ರ) ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಮಂದಹಾಸದೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅತಿ ಚಂದವಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ಆರತಿ ಬೆಳಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಚರಣ ೩:

"ಘೋರ ರಾವಣನ ಗರ್ವ ಭಂಗ ಮಾಡಿ ಪ್ರೇಮದಿಂದ ಸೀತೆಯ ಪೊರೆದಗೆ"

ಅರ್ಥ: ಭಯಾನಕನಾದ ರಾವಣನ ಅಹಂಕಾರವನ್ನು ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಶಮಾಡಿ, ಅಗ್ನಿಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯ ನಂತರ ಸೀತಾದೇವಿಯನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪ್ರೇಮದಿಂದ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಕರೆತಂದ ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಮಂಗಳಾರತಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇವೆ.
