ಶ್ರೀ ಹೆಳವನಕಟ್ಟೆ ಗಿರಿಯಮ್ಮನವರು (ಅಂಕಿತ: ಹೆಳವನಕಟ್ಟೆ ರಂಗ) ರಚಿಸಿರುವ ಈ ಕೃತಿಯು ಜಗನ್ಮಾತೆಯಾದ ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿಯನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ವಾತ್ಸಲ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಭಕ್ತಿಭಾವದಿಂದ ಮನೆಗೆ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸುವ ಒಂದು ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾ ಗೀತೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಗಿರಿಯಮ್ಮನವರು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಾವು ದಾಸಾನುದಾಸಿ ಎಂದು ಕರೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ, ತಾಯಿಯ ಕರುಣಾಕಟಾಕ್ಷಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಪ-ಪಾಪಗಳ ನಿವಾರಣೆಗಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಆಪ್ತವಾಗಿ ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಮೊದಲನೇ ನುಡಿ: ತಾಯಿಯೇ, ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬರಲು ನಿನಗೆ ಬೇಸರ ಬೇಡ. ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದಾಸರ ದಾಸಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಸುಗಂಧ ಪರಿಮಳದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿರುವ, ತಾವರೆ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳುಳ್ಳ ಶ್ರೀದೇವಿಯೇ, ಸಹಸ್ರನಾಮಗಳಿಂದ ಕೊಂಡಾಡಲ್ಪಡುವ ಆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ ವಾಸುದೇವನ (ಶ್ರೀಹರಿಯ) ಪತ್ನಿಯೇ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಲಹಲು ನೀನು ಬರಲೇಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಬೇಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಎರಡನೇ ಮತ್ತು ಮೂರನೇ ನುಡಿ: ನಾನು ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ "ತಾಯೇ" ಎಂದು ಕರೆದ ತಕ್ಷಣ "ಓ" ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದು ನನ್ನ ಮೊರೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳು. ನನ್ನ ಸಕಲ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು (ದುರಿತಗಳನ್ನು) ನಾಶಮಾಡುವ ನಿನ್ನ ಕರುಣೆಯೆಂಬ ಅಮೃತವನ್ನು ನಾನು ದಿನಾಲೂ ಸ್ಮರಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಭೂಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪವಿತ್ರವಾದ 'ಹೆಳವನಕಟ್ಟೆ' ಎಂಬ ದಿವ್ಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಸಿರುವ, ಕರುಣಾಸಾಗರಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಪರಮ ಪವಿತ್ರಳಾದ ತಾಯಿಯೇ, ನನಗೆ ಮಂಗಳಕರವಾದ ವರಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಲು ಬೇಗನೆ ನಡೆದು ಬಾರಮ್ಮಾ ಎಂದು ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಅರ್ಥ (Meaning Parawise)
ಪಲ್ಲವಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅನುಪಲ್ಲವಿ
ಆಡುತ ಬಾರಮ್ಮಾ ನಲಿ ನಲಿದಾಡುತ ಬಾರಮ್ಮಾ ||
ಆಡುತ ವರಗಳಾ ನೀಡುತ ಕರುಣದಿ ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ದಯದಿಂದಾ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ||
ಅರ್ಥ: ಓ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ದೇವಿಯೇ, ನೀನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಆನಂದದಿಂದ ನಲಿದಾಡುತ್ತಾ, ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳನ್ನಿಡುತ್ತಾ ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಮೂರ್ತಿಮತ್ತಾಗಿ ಬಾರಮ್ಮಾ. ಹಾಗೆ ಬರುವಾಗ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನಂಬಿದ ಸಜ್ಜನರಿಗೆ ಶುಭಕರವಾದ ವರಗಳನ್ನು ಲೀಲಾಜಾಲವಾಗಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾ, ನಿನ್ನ ಕರುಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ದಯೆ ತುಂಬಿದ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ದಯಮಾಡಿಸಮ್ಮಾ.
೧. ಒಂದನೇ ನುಡಿ
ಬೇಸರವು ಬೇಡಮ್ಮಾ ದಾಸರ ದಾಸಿಯು ನಾ ನಿಮ್ಮ
ವಾಸನಪೂರಿತೆ ವನರುಹ ನೇತ್ರೆ ಸಾಸಿರನಾಮದ ವಾಸುದೇವನ ಸತಿ ||
ಅರ್ಥ: ತಾಯಿಯೇ, ನನ್ನಂತಹ ಬಡಜೀವಿಯ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬರಲು ನಿನಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಬೇಸರ ಅಥವಾ ಅಸಡ್ಡೆ ಬೇಡ. ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸರ ದಾಸಿಯಾಗಲು ಸಿದ್ಧಳಾಗಿರುವ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಭಕ್ತೆ. ದಿವ್ಯವಾದ ಸುಗಂಧ ಪರಿಮಳದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿರುವವಳೇ, ತಾವರೆ ಹೂವಿನಂತಹ ಸುಂದರ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳುಳ್ಳವಳೇ (ವನರುಹ ನೇತ್ರೆ), ಮತ್ತು ಸಹಸ್ರಾರು ನಾಮಗಳಿಂದ (ಸಾಸಿರನಾಮದ) ಇಡೀ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಿಂದ ಪೂಜಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವ ಆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ ವಾಸುದೇವನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಪತ್ನಿಯೇ, ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯನ್ನು ಮನ್ನಿಸು.
೨. ಎರಡನೇ ನುಡಿ
ಕರೆದರೆ ಓಯೆಂದು ತಾಯೆ ಎನ್ನ ಮೊರೆಯ ಲಾಲಿಸೆ ನೀ ಬಂದು
ದುರಿತಗಳನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಪರಿಹರಿಸುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕರುಣಾಮೃತವನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸುವೆ ಅನುದಿನ ||
ಅರ್ಥ: ಹೆತ್ತ ತಾಯಿಯಾದವಳು ಮಗು ಕರೆದ ತಕ್ಷಣ ಹೇಗೆ ಓಡೋಡಿ ಬರುತ್ತಾಳೋ, ಹಾಗೆ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆಯಿಂದ ಕರೆದಾಗ "ಓ" ಎಂದು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಪಲ್ಗುಡುತ್ತಾ ಬಾರಮ್ಮಾ. ಬಂದು ನನ್ನ ಅಂತರಂಗದ ಸಂಕಟದ ಮೊರೆಯನ್ನು ಆಲಿಸು. ನನ್ನ ಜೀವನದ ಸಕಲ ಕಷ್ಟಗಳು, ತಾಪತ್ರಯಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು (ದುರಿತಗಳನೆಲ್ಲಾ) ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನಾಶಮಾಡುವ ನಿನ್ನ ದಿವ್ಯವಾದ ಕರುಣೆಯೆಂಬ ಅಮೃತವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಪ್ರತಿದಿನವೂ (ಅನುದಿನ) ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಸ್ಮರಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
೩. ಮೂರನೇ ನುಡಿ
ಧರಣಿಯೊಳುನ್ನತವಾದ ಹೆಳವನಕಟ್ಟೆ ಗಿರಿಯೊಳು ನೆಲೆಸಿದ
ಪರಮ ಪವಿತ್ರಳೆ ಕರುಣಾ ಸಿಂಧುವೆ ವರವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾ ಬೇಗದಿಂದಲಿ ||
ಅರ್ಥ: ಈ ಭೂಮಂಡಲದಲ್ಲೇ (ಧರಣಿಯೊಳು) ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಉನ್ನತವಾದ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಹಿಮಾನ್ವಿತವಾದ 'ಹೆಳವನಕಟ್ಟೆ' ಎಂಬ ಪುಣ್ಯಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಗಿರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ (ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ) ಶ್ರೀ ರಂಗನಾಥನ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ನೆಲೆಸಿರುವವಳೇ, ಪರಮ ಪವಿತ್ರಳಾದ ಜಗನ್ಮಾತೆಯೇ, ದಯಾಸಾಗರವೇ (ಕರುಣಾ ಸಿಂಧುವೆ), ನನಗೆ ಸನ್ಮಂಗಳವನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡುವ ದಿವ್ಯ ವರಗಳನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸಲು ನೀನು ತಡಮಾಡದೇ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ನನ್ನೆಡೆಗೆ ನಡೆದು ಬಾರಮ್ಮಾ.

This devotional composition is a sweet, deeply affectionate, and gentle invitation to Goddess Mahalakshmi, asking her to enter the devotee’s home and heart. Written from the perspective of an innocent child calling out to its mother, Giriyamma surrenders her identity, calling herself the "servant of the Lord's servants," and begs the Mother of the Universe to arrive gracefully and bless her.
Summary
Pallavi and Anupallavi: The poet ecstatically invites Goddess Lakshmi to come to her home, dancing with pure joy. She requests that the Goddess not arrive empty-handed, but rather come granting boons and gazing upon her with eyes full of absolute compassion and grace.
Charana 1: Giriyamma begs the Mother not to feel reluctant or weary of visiting a humble home. She establishes her deep humility by declaring herself a mere servant of the Lord's devotees. She praises Lakshmi as the lotus-eyed, fragrance-filled consort of Lord Vasudeva, who is worshiped by a thousand cosmic names.
Charana 2 & 3: The poet asks the Mother to respond instantly with a loving "Yes" (Ō) the moment she calls out, just as a birth mother responds to her crying child. She promises to meditate daily on the nectar of Lakshmi's grace, which alone can dissolve all worldly miseries and sins (Duritas). The song concludes with a prayer to the supremely pure Goddess who resides with Lord Ranganatha at the holy hill station of Heḷavanakaṭṭe, begging her to arrive swiftly and grant final benediction.

Meaning: O Mother, please do not feel bored, hesitant, or weary of coming to the doorstep of a poor soul like me. I am a very simple, humble devotee who is ready to serve merely as the servant of Your ultimate servants (Dāsara dāsiyu). O Goddess who is filled with divine, cosmic fragrance (Vāsanapūrite)! O Mother with eyes as exquisitely beautiful as a fresh lotus (Vanaruha nētre)! O beloved Consort of Lord Vasudeva, who is glorified across the worlds by a thousand holy names—please accept my invitation.

Karedare ōyendu tāye enna moreya lālise nī bandu
Duritagaḷanellā pariharisuva nimma karuṇāmṛtavanu smarisuve anudina ||2||
Meaning: Just as a compassionate mother answers her child's cry instantly, the very moment I call out "Mother!", please respond with a loving "Yes!" (Ō yendu) and rush to my side. Come and listen closely to the desperate prayers of my inner heart. Your grace is a divine nectar (Karuṇāmṛta) that completely burns away and resolves all structural miseries, hardships, and sins (Duritas); I promise to remember and meditate upon this grace of Yours every single day (Anudina).

Dharaṇiyoḷunnatavāda heḷavanakaṭṭe giriyoḷu nelesida
Parama pavitreḷe karuṇā sindhuve varavannu koḍuttā bēgadindali ||3||
Meaning: You have permanently established Your divine presence alongside Lord Ranganatha upon the sacred hill of Heḷavanakaṭṭe—a place highly exalted and revered across the entire earth (Dharaṇiyoḷu). O Mother of supreme purity (Parama pavitreḷe)! O infinite Ocean of Compassion (Karuṇā sindhuve)! Do not delay any longer; step forward quickly and arrive with speed to shower Your auspicious, liberating boons upon me.
