ಗುರುಕರುಣ ಕೃಪೆಯಿಂದ ಪರಮ ದಿವ್ಯಾಮೃತವು
ಸುರಿಸುರಿದು ಚಪ್ಪರಿದು ಸೂರ್ಯಾಡಿ ಸಾರಸವ ।।೧।।
ಅನುದಿನ ಸೇವಿಸುವ ಅನುಭವಿಗಳೂಟ
ಏನೆಂದುಸುರಲಿ ನಾ ಆನಂದೋಬ್ರಹ್ಮವ ।।೨।।
ಎಂದಿಗೆ ಬಾಹುದು ನೋಡಿ ಸಂದಿಸಿ ಮಾನವಜನ್ಮ
ಚಂದಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರೋ ಬಂದ ಕೈಯಲಿ ಬೇಗ ।।೩।।
ಆಲಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡಬ್ಯಾಡಿ ವಾಲ್ಗೈಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಕ್ಕೆ

ಈ ಕೀರ್ತನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಖಂಡಕಿಯ ಶ್ರೀ ಮಹಿಪತಿ ದಾಸರು (ಮಹಿಪತಿರಾಯರು) ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸರಳ ಹಾಗೂ ಸುಂದರ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಚಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹರಿನಾಮಸ್ಮರಣೆಯು ಕೇವಲ ಶಬ್ದವಲ್ಲ, ಅದು ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಧರಿಸುವ 'ಅಮೃತ' ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ದಾಸರು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಮನವರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಸಾರಾಂಶ (Summary)
ನಮಗೆ ದೊರೆತಿರುವ ಈ ಮಾನವ ಜನ್ಮವು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಅಪರೂಪವಾದುದು. ಇದು ಮತ್ತೆ ಯಾವಾಗ ಸಿಗುತ್ತದೋ ತಿಳಿಯದು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಸಿಕ್ಕ ಅವಕಾಶವನ್ನು ವ್ಯರ್ಥ ಮಾಡದೆ, ಆಲಸ್ಯವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಗುರುಗಳ ಕೃಪೆಯಿಂದ "ಹರಿನಾಮ" ಎಂಬ ದಿವ್ಯಾಮೃತವನ್ನು ಸವಿಯಬೇಕು. ಈ ನಾಮವು ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಹಾಭೋಜನವಿದ್ದಂತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ನೊಂದವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸುವ 'ಸಂಜೀವಿನಿ'ಯಿದ್ದಂತೆ ಎಂದು ದಾಸರು ಬೋಧಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಭಾವಾರ್ಥ (Meaning Parawise)
ಪಲ್ಲವಿ:
ಅರಿತು ಕೊಳ್ಳಿರೊ ಬ್ಯಾಗ ಹರಿಯ ನಾಮಾಮೃತ ದೊರಕುವುದಲ್ಲಿದು ನೋಡಿ ಸರ್ಕನೆ ಸರ್ವರಿಗೆಲ್ಲಾ
ಅರ್ಥ: ಎಲೈ ಮನುಷ್ಯರೇ, ಹರಿಯ ನಾಮವೆಂಬ ಅಮೃತದ ಸವಿಯನ್ನು ಬೇಗ ಅರಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳಿ. ಈ ಭಾಗ್ಯವು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಅಷ್ಟು ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ಅಥವಾ ಒಮ್ಮೆಲೇ (ಸರ್ಕನೆ) ಸಿಗುವಂತದ್ದಲ್ಲ. ಇದು ಪುಣ್ಯವಂತರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಲಭಿಸುವ ಅಪರೂಪದ ವಸ್ತು.
ಚರಣ ೧:
ಗುರುಕರುಣ ಕೃಪೆಯಿಂದ ಪರಮ ದಿವ್ಯಾಮೃತವು ಸುರಿಸುರಿದು ಚಪ್ಪರಿದು ಸೂರ್ಯಾಡಿ ಸಾರಸವ
ಅರ್ಥ: ಸದ್ಗುರುಗಳ ಕರುಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕೃಪೆಯಾದಾಗ ಮಾತ್ರ ಈ ಪರಮ ದಿವ್ಯವಾದ ನಾಮಾಮೃತವು ನಮಗೆ ಒಲಿಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಂತಹ ಅಮೃತದ ಧಾರೆ ಸುರಿಯುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಅದನ್ನು ಮನಸಾರೆ ಸವಿಯಬೇಕು (ಚಪ್ಪರಿಸಬೇಕು). ಆ ನಾಮದ ಸಾರವನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಧನ್ಯವಾಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.
ಚರಣ ೨:
ಅನುದಿನ ಸೇವಿಸುವ ಅನುಭವಿಗಳೂಟ ಏನೆಂದುಸುರಲಿ ನಾ ಆನಂದೋಬ್ರಹ್ಮವ
ಅರ್ಥ: ಹರಿನಾಮವು ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಸ್ಮರಿಸುವ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅನುಭವಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಾದ ಭೋಜನವಿದ್ದಂತೆ. ಆ ನಾಮಸ್ಮರಣೆಯಿಂದ ಸಿಗುವ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾನಂದವು ಎಂತಹದ್ದು ಎಂದು ಬಣ್ಣಿಸಲು ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದು ಅನುಭವಿಸಿ ತಿಳಿಯಬೇಕಾದ ಮಹದಾನಂದ.
ಚರಣ ೩:
ಎಂದಿಗೆ ಬಾಹುದು ನೋಡಿ ಸಂದಿಸಿ ಮಾನವಜನ್ಮ ಚಂದಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರೋ ಬಂದ ಕೈಯಲಿ ಬೇಗ
ಅರ್ಥ: ಈ ಮಾನವ ಜನ್ಮವು ಮತ್ತೆ ಯಾವಾಗ ಸಿಗುತ್ತದೆಯೋ ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತು? ಈಗ ಈ ಜನ್ಮ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೈಗೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ, ಇರುವ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲೇ ಹರಿನಾಮವನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬದುಕನ್ನು ಚಂದವಾಗಿ (ಸಾರ್ಥಕವಾಗಿ) ರೂಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ.
ಚರಣ ೪:
ಆಲಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡಬ್ಯಾಡಿ ವಾಲ್ಗೈಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಕ್ಕೆ ಸುಲಲಿತವಾಗಿಹುದು ತಿಳಿದು ಕೊಂಬವರಿಗೆ
ಅರ್ಥ: ಭಗವಂತನ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಅಥವಾ ಆತನನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸಲು ಆಲಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡಬೇಡಿ. ಹರಿನಾಮದ ಗುಟ್ಟನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡವರಿಗೆ ಭಗವಂತನ ಆರಾಧನೆಯು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸುಲಭವಾದದ್ದು (ಸುಲಲಿತ).
ಚರಣ ೫:
ಇರುಳ್ಹಗಲ ಪೂರ್ಣ ಸುರವುತಿಹ ಅಮೃತ ತರಳ ಮಹಿಪತಿ ಪ್ರಾಣ ಹೊರೆವ ಸಂಜೀವನ
ಅರ್ಥ: ಈ ಹರಿನಾಮವು ಹಗಲು-ರಾತ್ರಿ ಎನ್ನದೆ ಸದಾ ಭಕ್ತರ ಮನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ರವಿಸುವ ಅಮೃತದ ತೊರೆ. ಇದು ಮಹಿಪತಿ ದಾಸರಂತಹ ಭಕ್ತರ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ 'ಸಂಜೀವಿನಿ'ಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಂಸಾರದ ಕಷ್ಟಗಳಿಂದ ಕಾಪಾಡಿ ಸಲಹುತ್ತದೆ.

This spiritual song was composed by the saint Sri Mahipati Dasaru (also known as Mahipati Rayaru) of Kakhandaki. He was a great mystic who beautifully blended the path of knowledge (Jnana) with the path of devotion (Bhakti).
Summary
The poet emphasizes that the human birth is a rare and precious opportunity that should not be squandered. He urges us to quickly taste the "nectar of Hari's name" before time runs out. This divine nectar is not easily accessible to everyone; it is revealed only through the grace of a Guru. Verse-by-Verse Meaning
Pallavi
“Understand quickly the nectar of Hari’s name; see, it is not something that everyone can obtain instantly.”
Meaning: The poet gives a wake-up call to humanity. Realizing the sweetness and power of God's name is the highest wisdom. It isn't a common commodity that one stumbles upon; it requires spiritual maturity to truly "get" it.
Charana 1
“By the mercy and grace of the Guru, this supreme divine nectar flows. Savor it, smack your lips in delight, and immerse yourself in its essence.”
Meaning: You cannot find this "nectar" on your own. It is the Guru who opens the tap. Once you find it, don't just observe it—taste it deeply and let the essence of devotion soak into your very being.
Charana 2
“It is the daily meal for the experienced souls who consume it every day. How can I even describe that bliss of the Brahman (God)?”
Meaning: For realized saints, chanting the name of Hari isn't a chore; it is their daily sustenance—their "food." The poet admits that the joy resulting from this is Anandobrahma (the bliss of the Infinite), which is beyond the capacity of words to explain.
Charana 3
“Who knows when this human birth will come again? Make your life beautiful while it is still in your hands, and do it quickly.”
Meaning: Life is fragile and the cycle of rebirth is uncertain. While you are healthy and conscious (while life is "in your hands"), use this time to perfect your soul through devotion.
Charana 4
“Do not be lazy in serving the Lord. For those who truly understand, this path is very simple and smooth (sulalita).”
Meaning: Procrastination is the biggest enemy of spirituality. While many think religion is difficult, the poet argues that once you have the right understanding, loving God becomes the most natural and easy thing to do.
Charana 5
“This nectar flows fully day and night. It is the Sanjeevani (life-saver) that protects the life of this child, Mahipati.”
Meaning: The grace of Hari’s name is constant and never-ending. The poet identifies himself as a "Tarala" (a small child or humble servant) and declares that this divine name is the medicine that protects his soul and keeps him spiritually alive.
