ಯೋಷಿಸಹಿತ ಒಂದು ಕೂಸು ಬರಲು ಜಗತ್
ಕೋಶಮನ್ನವ ಮಾಡಿ ನೀ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿದೆ॥೨॥

ತಿರುಪತಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಪಾಂಡುರಂಗಿ ಹುಚ್ಚಾಚಾರ್ಯರು (ಇಂದಿರೇಶಾಂಕಿತರು) ವಿರಚಿಸಿರುವ ಈ ಕೃತಿಯು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಕರ್ತನಾದ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮದೇವನನ್ನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸುವ ಅಪರೂಪದ ಪದವಾಗಿದೆ.
ಸಾರಾಂಶ (Summary)
ಈ ಹಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕವಿ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮದೇವನನ್ನು "ಅನ್ನದಾತ" ಎಂದು ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ವರ್ಣಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಲೋಕದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ತಮಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕ ಅನ್ನಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಗಿ ಏನನ್ನಾದರೂ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ ಅಥವಾ ಒಂದು ಮಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಾನ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮದೇವನು ಇಡೀ ಜಗತ್ತನ್ನೇ ಒಂದು ಕೋಶವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ, ಸಕಲ ಜೀವರಾಶಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅನ್ನವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವ ಕರುಣಾಮಯಿ. ಭಗವಂತನಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವ ದಾನದ ಮಹಿಮೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅದರಿಂದ ಸಿಗುವ ಮುಕ್ತಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಉಲ್ಲೇಖವಿದೆ.
ಅರ್ಥ (Paragraph-wise Meaning)
ಪಲ್ಲವಿ:
ಅನ್ನದಾನದ ಸುಖ ನಿನಗಲ್ಲದೆ ಧಾತಾ
ರನ್ಯ ಜನದೊಳುಂಟೆ ಜನ್ಯ ಜನಕನೆ ||
ಅರ್ಥ: ಸಕಲ ಜೀವರಾಶಿಗಳ ಉತ್ಪತ್ತಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣನಾದವನೇ (ಜನ್ಯ ಜನಕನೆ), ಎಲೈ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮದೇವನೇ (ಧಾತಾ), ಅನ್ನದಾನ ಮಾಡುವುದರಿಂದ ಸಿಗುವ ಆ ಪರಮ ಸುಖವು ನಿನಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಸಿದ್ಧಿಸಿದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ನಿಸ್ವಾರ್ಥವಾದ, ನಿರಂತರವಾದ ಅನ್ನದಾನದ ಭಾಗ್ಯವು ಬೇರೆ ಯಾರಲ್ಲಿ ತಾನೇ ಇರಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ? ಅಂದರೆ, ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಸಕಲ ಜೀವಿಗಳ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ತುಂಬಿಸುವ ಹೊಣೆ ಹೊತ್ತ ನಿನಗಿಂತ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಅನ್ನದಾನಿ ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ಚರಣ:
ಕೊಟ್ಟದನ್ನಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮ,ಮಿಷ್ಟ ಫಲವನುಂಬಿ
ಇಷ್ಟು ಜನರು ಬಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಭುಂಜಿಪರು ||೧||
ಅರ್ಥ: ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ತಾವು ಯಾರಿಗಾದರೂ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಅನ್ನವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರೆ, ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಗಿ ತಮಗೂ ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಸುಖ ಅಥವಾ ಇಷ್ಟ ಫಲಗಳು ಸಿಗಲಿ ಎಂದು ಬಯಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಲೋಕದ ಜನರು ಏನನ್ನಾದರೂ ದಾನ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಅಥವಾ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ನೈವೇದ್ಯ (ಬಲಿ) ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವಾಗಲೂ ತಮಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದಾಗಲಿ ಎಂಬ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದಲೇ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ದಾನ ಅಂತಹ ಮಿತಿಗೆ ಒಳಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಲ್ಲ.
ಎರಡನೆಯ ಚರಣ:
ಯೋಷಿಸಹಿತ ಒಂದು ಕೂಸು ಬರಲು ಜಗತ್
ಕೋಶಮನ್ನವ ಮಾಡಿ ನೀ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿದೆ ||೨||
ಅರ್ಥ: ಒಬ್ಬ ಪುರುಷ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ (ಯೋಷಿ) ಸಂಬಂಧದಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಸಣ್ಣ ಮಗು ಭೂಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಆ ಮಗುವಿನ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಗಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪೋಷಣೆಗಾಗಿ ನೀನು ಇಡೀ ಜಗತ್ತನ್ನೇ ಒಂದು ಅನ್ನದ ಭಂಡಾರವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದೀಯೆ. ಅಂದರೆ, ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಪ್ರತಿ ಜೀವಕ್ಕೂ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ನೀನು ಮೊದಲೇ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀಯೆ.
ಮೂರನೆಯ ಚರಣ:
ಇಂದಿರೇಶಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಾ, ಮಂದ ದಾನದಿ ಶತಾ
ನಂದ ನಾದಿಯೋ ಮುಕ್ತಿ ಮಂದಿರಗೊಳಗೆ |
ಹರಿತಂದು ತೋರೆನಗೆ ||೩||
ಅರ್ಥ: ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀಪತಿಯಾದ ಇಂದಿರೇಶನಿಗೆ (ಶ್ರೀಹರಿಗೆ) ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ನೀಡುವ ದಾನವು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಾದುದು. ಶತನಂದನಾದ (ಬ್ರಹ್ಮದೇವ) ನೀನು ಇಂತಹ ಭಕ್ತಿಯ ದಾನದಿಂದ ಮುಕ್ತಿ ಮಂದಿರವನ್ನೇ ಏರಬಲ್ಲೆ. ಅಂತಹ ಪರಮಾತ್ಮನಾದ ಹರಿಯನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ತಂದು ತೋರಿಸು ಅಥವಾ ಅವನ ದರ್ಶನ ಮಾಡಿಸು ಎಂದು ಕವಿ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮದೇವನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Stanza-wise Meaning
Refrain (Pallavi):
Annadānada sukha ninagallade dhātā
ranya janadoḷuṇṭe janya janakane ||
Meaning: O Creator (Dhata), the father of all that is born (Janya Janaka), the pure joy of providing food to all living beings belongs to you alone. Is it possible for any ordinary mortal to experience the scale and selfless joy of the sustenance you provide to the entire universe?
First Stanza:
Koṭṭadannakke sama, miṣṭa phalavanumbi
iṣṭu janaru bali koṭṭu bhuñjiparu ||1||
Meaning: Ordinary people usually give food or charity with the hope of receiving an equal reward or a desired result in return. Even when people offer food (bali) to the divine, they often do so to satisfy their own desires before consuming their share. Their giving is bound by conditions and limits, unlike yours.
Second Stanza:
Yōṣisahita ondu kūsu baralu jagat
kōśamannava māḍi nī samarpiside ||2||
Meaning: The moment a child is born to a couple (yoshi), you have already prepared the "world-treasury" (jagat-kosha) of food to sustain that new life. You have designed the universe in such a way that the nourishment required for every creature is provided for even before they arrive.
Third Stanza:
Note: Shatananda is another name for Lord Brahma.
Indirēśage koṭṭā, manda dānadi śatā
nanda nādiyō mukti mandiragoḷage |
haritandu tōrenege ||3||
Meaning: By offering everything to the Lord of Indira (Vishnu/Indiresha), even a small act of devotion can lead one to the temple of liberation (Mukti Mandira). O Brahma (Shatananda), you who reside in that divine state of bliss, I pray to you: bring the Lord Hari and show Him to me; grant me His divine vision.
