ಭಕ್ತವತ್ಸಲ ಭಯನಿವಾರಣ ಬಟ್ಟಲು ಬಾರಿಸಲೇನೋ ॥ ಅ ಪ ॥
ಅರ್ಥ: ಓ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ, ನೀನು ಯಾಕೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಕಿರಿಕಿರಿ (ಚಿಂತೆ ಅಥವಾ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ) ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀಯಾ? ಭಕ್ತರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವವನೇ, ಭಯವನ್ನು ನಿವಾರಿಸುವವನೇ, ನಿನಗೆ ಬಟ್ಟಲು ಬಾರಿಸುವ (ಯಾವುದಾದರೊಂದು ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವ) ಸಮಯ ಬಂದಿದೆಯೇ?

ಅರ್ಥ: ನೀನು (ವರಹಾ ಅವತಾರದಲ್ಲಿ) ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿದೆಯಲ್ಲ, ನಿನಗೆ ನೆಗಡಿಯಾಯಿತೇ? ಆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಭಾರವನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತು ನಿನ್ನ ಬೆನ್ನು ನೊಂದಿದೆಯೇ? ಧಾರುಣಿಯನ್ನು (ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು) ಬಗೆಯುವಾಗ ನಿನ್ನ ದವಡೆ (ದಾಡೆ) ನೊಂದಿತೇ? ಅಥವಾ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಹಿರಣ್ಯಕಶಿಪುವನ್ನು ಸೀಳುವಾಗ ನಿನ್ನ ಬೆರಳುಗಳು ನೊಂದವೋ ಏನೋ?

Meaning: Did you catch a cold by diving deep into the water (as Varaha)? Did your back ache carrying the heavy burden of the earth? Did your tusks ache while digging up the earth, or did your fingers ache while tearing apart the wicked Hiranyakashipu (as Narasimha)?

Bhoomiya aledu ninna paada nondaaveno ।
Raayaraayara geddu baahu nondaaveno ॥
Setuve katti ninna ratte nondaaveno ।
Ashtama striyarannaali tolu nondaaveno || 2 ||
Meaning: Did your feet ache while measuring the earth (as Vamana)? Did your arms ache after defeating all the kings (as Parasurama)? Did your shoulders ache after building a bridge across the ocean (as Rama)? Did your arms ache after protecting and ruling over the women (as Krishna)?
Stanza 3
Battale nindu ninage chaliyaayiteno ।
Uttama tejiyaneri pitta hattiteno ॥
Naarada guruvege naanu heli kalisaleno ।
Maayada kappu ninna morege hachchisaleno ।
Baala lakumilola prasannavenkata krishna || 3 ||
Meaning: Did you catch a chill standing naked? Did you get dizzy riding a supreme steed? Should I send word to Sage Narada about this? Should I apply a magical black spot (to ward off evil eyes) on your face? Oh beloved of Lakshmi, Prasanna Venkata Krishna!

Dasaru addresses Krishna not as the distant cosmic Lord, but as a fussy little child. Each line gently wonders whether something He did earlier is why He is now uncomfortable: Did diving into the waters make you shiver? Did carrying that great weight hurt your back? Did all that running, fighting, and saving the world leave you tired?
It almost feels like a mother trying to calm a restless child—softly guessing reasons, one after another, just to soothe Him. Perhaps these lines also remind us of the many forms the Lord has taken (tracking the Dashavatara in that exact order); instead of sounding grand and distant, they feel close… like a tender dialogue of pure maternal love at home.
