ರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣರು ಮನೆಗೆ ಬಂದರು ಬಾಗಿಲು ತೆರೆಯಿರೆ              ।।ಪ।।

ಕಾಮಧೇನು ಬಂದಂತಾಯಿತು ವರವ ಬೇಡಿರೆ                    ।।ಅ.ಪ॥

ಚೆಂಡು ಬುಗುರಿ ಚಿಣ್ಣೀ ಕೋಲು ಗಜ್ಜುಗವಾಡುತ 
ದುಂಡು ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಮುಡಿದು ಕೊಳಲನೂದಿ ಪಾಡುತ 
ಹಿಂಡುವೆಣ್ಗಳ ಮುದ್ದು ಮುಖದ ಸೊಬಗ ನೋಡುತ 
ಭಂಡು ಮಾಡಿ ಬಾಲೆಯರೊಡನೆ ಸರಸವಾಡುತ                  ।।೧।।

ಮಕರ ಕುಂಡಲ ನೀಲಮುತ್ತಿನ ಬಾವುಲಿಡುತಲಿ 
ಕಂಕಣ ಹಾರ ತೋಳಬಂದಿ ತೊಡಿಗೆ ತೊಡುತಲಿ 
ಸುಕುಮಾರ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಉಡಿಗೆ ಉಡುತಲಿ 
ಮುಖದ ಕಮಲ ಮುಗುಳುನಗೆಯ ಸುಖವ ಕೊಡುತಲಿ           ।।೨।।

ಪೊಕ್ಕುಳಲಿ ಅಜನ ಪಡೆದ ದೇವದೇವನು 
ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಅಂಗುಷ್ಟದಲಿ ಗಂಗೆಯ ಪಡೆದನು 
ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮಾಣಿಕ್ಯನವ ಪುರಂದರವಿಠಲನು 
ಅಕ್ಕರೆಯಿಂದಲಿ ಮುಕುತಿ ಕೊಡುವ ರಂಗನಾಥನು                 ।।೩।।

Bandu madi baleyarodane sarasavaduta ||1||

Makara kumdala nilamuttina bavulidutali
Kankana hara tolabandi todige todutali
Sukumara sundaravada udige udutali
Mukada kamala mugulunageya sukava kodutali ||2||

Pokkulali ajana padeda devadevanu
Cikka amgushtadali gamgeya padedanu
Makkala manikyanava purandaravithalanu
Akkareyindali mukuti koduva ranganathanu ||3||

Meaning:

P:         krshna [who is also rama] has come[bandaru] home [manege]. Open [tereyire – feminine gender] the door [bAgila]

A:         It [his coming] is like the coming of [bandantaytu] of kAmadhenu [the all giving cow]. Seek [bEdire – feminine] boons [varava] [from him].

 

C1:     [he has come] playing [aaduta] the ball [chendu], the top [bugari], the stick[a game played with a small wooden piece sharp at both ends placed on the ground and hit at the edges by a larger wooden stick. The length to which the smaller piece jumps is the standard], and the heggajjuga [seed of a plant [Caesalpinia bonduc ], perhaps was used for playing with]; and wearing[mudidu] round [dundu] jasmine [mallige] [garlands], playing[ooduta] the flute [loLalu], and singing [pAduta]; appreciating [seeing] [noDuta] the beauty [sobaga] of the beautiful [muddu] faces [mukhagaLa] of scores [hinDu – large group] girls [peNgaLa] and making small talk [bandu][with them] and entertaining [sarasa] the girls [bAle]

 

C2:     wearing makara kundala[in the ears], blue pearls[in the neck], and [also] decorated with[todutali] ornaments[toDuge] of red [kankaNa ?] garland, arm embellishment [toLa bandi]; and [in addition] wearing [udutali] a handsome [sundaravAda] dress [uduge] [fit for] of a young person, and allowing [them – the young girls] the pleasure [sukhava] of enjoying the smile [muguLu nageya] of his lotus face [mukhada kamala].

 

C3:     [he is] the god of gods [dEva dEvanu], who gave brith [paDeda] to aja in his navel [pokkaLu – hokkaLu], [he got] ganga [the river] in his little finger [chikka angushta], [he is ] the mAnikya [a precious stone] of all children [makkaLa] [our] guru purandaravithala, [the one] who lovingly [akkareyindali] gives[koduva] salvation [mukuti], out lord ranganatha.
